    摘要: Methods and apparatus for managing static and dynamic optical network configurations to enable mapping an actual optical network or validating an expected optical network are provided. In one embodiment a validation method includes the step of selecting an optical path having a plurality of nodes from a database defining an expected optical network. A list of detected pilot tones from each node associated with the selected optical path is generated. An expected list of pilot tones associated with each node of the selected optical path is generated. Comparison of the expected and detected lists identifies any mismatched nodes. Another method includes the step of setting a first pilot tone source to have a first pilot tone value. All other network pilot tone sources are set to have another pilot tone value. An optical path associated with the first pilot tone source is then mapped by identifying each node of the network having the first pilot tone value. Extraneous information can be applied to provide greater assurances as to likelihood of possible actual optical paths during the mapping process. Methods of re-configuring network pilot tone sources to preserve mapping and validation abilities when adding nodes, adding optical paths, or even adding another network to a pre-existing network are also provided.

    摘要: A subscriber line interface circuit apparatus includes a signal processor having sense inputs for sensed tip and ring signals of a subscriber loop. The signal processor generates linefeed driver control signals in response to the sensed signals. The signal processor resides on an integrated circuit die. In another embodiment, a subscriber line interface circuit apparatus includes a signal processor generating subscriber loop control signals in response to sensed tip and ring signals from the subscriber loop. A linefeed driver portion drives the subscriber loop in accordance with the subscriber loop control signals. The linefeed driver portion provides the sensed tip and ring signals. Each of the linefeed driver portion and the signal processor resides on an integrated circuit die. In one packaging implementation, the signal processor and the linefeed driver portion reside on separate integrated circuit die within separate integrated circuit packages. In another packaging implementation, the signal processor and linefeed driver portion reside on separate integrated circuit die within the same integrated circuit package. In yet another packaging implementation, the signal processor and the linefeed driver portion reside on the same integrated circuit die. Regardless of packaging, the common mode and differential mode components are calculated by the signal processor rather than the linefeed driver.

The basic recovery system comprises a plurality of virtual machines (31a,31b) installed on a recovery computer (30), each virtual machine being arranged to emulate a corresponding networked computer, and the recovery computer being arranged, in the event of a detected failure of one of the networked computers, to activate and use the virtual machine which corresponds to the failed networked computer (20). The first circuit couples the received outgoing audio signal to the subscriber line through a common base isolation stage. In various embodiments, the common base isolation stage comprises a plurality of bipolar junction transistors coupled in a common base configuration or a plurality of field effect transistors coupled in a common gate configuration.

The subscriber loop pull-down circuitry decreases at least one of a tip and a ring line current in response to a corresponding pull-down control signal. The method further includes the step of providing control circuitry operating in a second voltage domain, wherein the first and second voltage domains are substantially distinct. The control circuitry varies the pull-down control signal to decrease a selected one of the tip and ring line currents in response to a sensed current corresponding to an associated one of a tip pull-down current and a ring pull-down current. A subscriber line interface circuit apparatus includes pull-down circuitry operating in a first voltage domain. The pull-down circuitry varies line currents of the tip and ring lines in response to a pull-down control signal provided by control circuitry operating in a second voltage domain. The first and second voltage domains are substantially distinct. A control isolation stage is coupled to provide the pull-down control signals from the control circuitry to the pull-down circuitry. A feedback isolation stage provides feedback signals from the pull-down circuitry to the control circuitry. The feedback signals represent sensed pull-down currents associated with the tip and ring lines. The control circuitry provides the pull-down control signals for the tip and ring lines in response to the sensed pull-down currents.

    摘要: An analog front end for communicating discrete multitone modulated signals on a subscriber line includes a transmit block, a receive block, and a hybrid packaged within a same integrated circuit. Upstream data to be transmitted to the subscriber line is pre-processed to eliminate even images. A power spectral density shaping filter subsequently substantially eliminates undesired energy in the upstream data signal. A high pass filter further rejects upstream data from the downstream data signal. The power spectral density filter and the high pass filter enable the use of a first order hybrid network for extracting the downstream data. The analog front end may include an additional analog channel to enable voiceband (e.g., v.90) communication concurrent with non-voiceband (e.g., xDSL) operation. Sample rate conversion is utilized to avoid the use of multiple independent clocks for otherwise incompatible clocking requirements.
