Disclosed are a signaling method for a stereoscopic video service and an apparatus using the method. An image decoding method comprises: a step of determining a field value based on a broadcast service type and a display mode in decoding a program level descriptor; and a step of determining an encoded stream type, whether an elementary stream is a reference stream, whether the elementary stream is a left-eye image or a right-eye image, additional image upsampling information and information on a subsampled line. Thus, efficiency of encoding/decoding an additional image for a stereoscopic video content may increase.

In accordance with an illustrative configuration, a device and a method are configured to receive video stream including a stream receiving unit, a demultiplexing unit, and a decoding unit. The stream receiving unit is configured to receive multiplexed stream of video stream and signaling information describing the video stream. The demultiplexing unit is configured to demultiplex the received stream to video stream and signaling information. The decoding unit is configured to decode the demultiplexed video stream by using the signaling information. The signaling information includes stream type information on the video stream providing stereoscopic service and service type information, which indicates whether the service type according to the video stream is 2D monoscopic service or 3D stereoscopic service.

There are provided a 3-D image synchronization method and apparatus. The method comprises determining a reference region for each of the frames of a first image and determining a counter region for each of the frames of a second image, corresponding to the reference region, for the first image and the second image forming a 3-D image; calculating the feature values of the reference region and the counter region; extracting a frame difference between the first image and the second image based on the feature values; and moving any one of the first image and the second image in the time domain based on the extracted frame difference.

Disclosed is an apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving reference image data and 3D additional image data in 3D image data so as to provide a 3D image in a digital broadcasting system. In the method, a basic image and a 3D additional image in a 3D image of a 3D broadcasting service is processed in a stereoscopic image format of one of a side-by-side method and a top-down method. The basic image and the 3D additional image processed in the stereoscopic image format are encoded to a basic image stream and a 3D additional image stream. The encoded basic image stream and the encoded 3D additional image stream are multiplexed to a 3D image stream of a single stream using a dual stream method, and the multiplexed 3D image stream is then transmitted.

Provided is a method for transmitting a stereoscopic video in a digital broadcasting system, the stereoscopic video being composed of a left view and a right view. The method includes: generating information indicating that the video is stereoscopic, information about a composition type of the stereoscopic video, and additional information based on the composition type; and transmitting the stereoscopic video and the generated information. The composition type is to compose the stereoscopic video of a single or two encoding streams by using the left view and the right view. In the case of a single stream mode in which the stereoscopic video is composed of the single encoding stream, the additional information includes information about positions of the left and right views. In the case of a dual stream mode in which the stereoscopic video is composed of the two encoding streams, the additional information includes information indicating whether the respective encoding streams are the left view or the right view and information indicating correlation between the respective encoding streams.

Disclosed are an apparatus and method for providing a location based broadcasting service. The apparatus includes a broadcasting network receiving module to receive a broadcasting signal transmitted via a broadcasting network, a communications network receiving module to receive a data signal transmitted via a communications network, and a location based service module to provide, to a user, program information according to location information of the user using service information received from either the broadcasting network receiving module or a communications network receiving module, the service information being included in either the broadcasting signal or the data signal.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for transforming digital TV broadcasting signals into digital radio broadcasting signals and a method thereof. The apparatus includes: a transport stream generator for transforming TV broadcasting signals outputted from outside into digital TV broadcasting transport streams; a broadcasting transport format transformer for generating digital radio broadcasting transport streams by transforming the digital TV broadcasting transport streams in conformity to a digital radio broadcasting transport protocol based on a radio broadcasting schedule; a digital radio broadcasting multiplexer for multiplexing the generated digital radio broadcasting transport streams generated in the broadcasting transport format transformer; a modulating/up-converting unit for modulating the multiplexed digital radio broadcasting transport streams in a modulation method of digital radio broadcasting and up-converting frequencies of the modulated radio broadcasting signals into radio frequency (RF) signals; and a high-power amplifier for amplifying and transmitting the up-converted RF signals through a transmitting antenna.

Disclosed are novel materials separated from Ecklonia cava, a method for extracting and purifying the same, and the use thereof for antioxidants. The method comprises extracting antioxidative ingredients from powdered Ecklonia cava one or more times with an organic solvent; fractionating the antioxidative ingredients one or more times in solvents; and purifying the solvent fractions by chromatography. Superior in scavenging activity and thermal stability, the extract from Ecklonia cava can be used as antioxidants and is suitable in commercialization.

Provided is a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) transmission method in a digital broadcasting system. The method includes generating a plurality of first modulation symbols by modulating first information bits; generating a plurality of second modulation symbols by modulating second information bits; generating a plurality of first pre-coded symbols and a plurality of second pre-coded symbols by pre-coding the plurality of first modulation symbols and the plurality of second modulation symbols; and allocating the plurality of first pre-coded symbols and the plurality of second pre-coded symbols staggeringly through a first antenna and a second antenna and transmitting them.
