    Abstract: Techniques are described to continuously calculate an inverter DC power of a synchronous machine, e.g., motor or generator, based on the individual phase currents, DC link voltage, and gate signals, which can be compared against the commanded mechanical power based of the estimated rotor speed and commanded torque. A controller can determine whether to shut down the inverter, such as the pulse width modulation (PWM), if the DC power is greater than a threshold value. Such a threshold can be defined to allow an acceptable position and speed estimation error margin.

    Abstract: A system for maintaining a working temperature of a circuit breaker in an electrical system. The system includes a heater pad configured to be attached to the circuit breaker for transferring heat to a surface of the circuit breaker and a temperature sensor configured to detect a surface temperature of the circuit breaker. The system further includes a controller configured to receive data associated with the surface temperature of the circuit breaker and control transmission of power to the heater pad based on a deviation of the surface temperature to an outside of a threshold temperature range to maintain the working temperature of the circuit breaker.

    Abstract: An excavating machine can conduct an excavation cycle that can be distinguished in a plurality of work cycle segments. To maneuver an excavation tool with respect the work surface during the excavation cycle, the excavation machine includes an excavation linkage powered by a primary electrical power source. The excavation machine can be operatively associated with a battery management system that can identify a high load condition associated with the excavation cycle and can responsively connect an auxiliary electrical power source to the hydraulic system to delivery supplemental power during the high load condition.

    Abstract: A machine system includes a machine having a work tool assembly coupled to a back machine end and including a linkage adjustable among raised, lowered, and middle linkage positions in a vertical operating range. A work tool coupled to the linkage has an angular orientation dependent upon the position of the linkage and is pivotable at a greater pivoting ratio to the raised linkage position and a reduced pivoting ratio to the lowered linkage position. The configuration enables maintaining the work tool at a desired service orientation in a ground-penetrating portion of the vertical operating range, whilst tucking the work tool at the raised linkage position to facilitate loading of the machine onto a trailer.

    Abstract: A battery system includes a load bus to connect to a DC link, a single pre-charge circuit connected to the load bus, multiple battery packs, and a control circuit. Each battery pack includes multiple battery strings that include battery cells connected in series, a positive contactor to connect the battery string to the load bus, and a pre-charge contactor to connect the battery string to the pre-charge circuit. The control circuit selects a battery string to pre-charge the DC link, closes the pre-charge contactor of the battery string to connect the selected battery string to the pre-charge circuit, and opens the pre-charge contactor of the selected battery string to disconnect the battery string from the pre-charge circuit and close the positive contactor of the selected battery string to connect the battery string to the load bus when the DC link is pre-charged.

The battery cells are disposed between the first end plate, the second end plate, the first side plate, and the second side plate. A cover is disposed at least partially over the first end plate, the second end plate, the first side plate, and the second side plate. A pressure release vent couples to the housing and includes an interior surface that defines a plurality of sections that are configured to dislodge from the pressure release vent based on a pressure within the battery module exceeding a pressure threshold. The individual sections pivot about segments during rupture of the pressure release vent.

    Abstract: A method or system for managing autonomous vehicle operations includes receiving inputs including a task command for an autonomous mobile machine, determining an expected travel trajectory for the autonomous mobile machine to perform the task command, and determining an actual travel trajectory of the mobile machine during performance of the task command. The method or system further includes comparing the actual travel trajectory to the expected travel trajectory, and identifying an incident limiting factor responsible for a deviation between the actual travel trajectory and the expected travel, wherein comparing the actual travel trajectory is repeated at predetermined intervals during performance of the task command.
