A method and authentication apparatus for sharing information for identifying an Authorization Key (AK) with a Base Station (BS) in a subscriber station are provided. The method includes, in the subscriber station, sharing a root key with the BS by performing an authentication with the BS, sharing an AK derived from the root key with the BS, sharing an AK sequence number of the AK with the BS, and sharing an AK Identifier (AKID) of the AK with the BS. The AK sequence number is generated by a sequence number of the root key. The AKID is generated by a parameter including the AK, the AK sequence number, a Medium Access Control (MAC) address of the subscriber station, and a BS Identifier (BSID) of the BS.

A method for communication of a terminal and a method for communication of a base station are disclosed. Communication between a first base station with a problem in a backbone and a second base station located beyond the coverage of the degraded base station and neighboring the first base station is relayed by a terminal. Accordingly, the first base station is able to continuously provide service to subordinate stations.

A method for a base station supporting multicarrier operation to transmit a paging message is provided. The base station determines a first time point for multicast broadcast service (MBS)-related information and transmits the MBS-related information through a first carrier at the first time point. Also, the base station determines a second time point for transmitting a paging message to a mobile station, determines a second carrier for transmitting the paging message to the mobile station, and transmits the paging message through the second carrier at the second time point. Here, the second time point is different from the first time point.

According to the method, a serving base station arranges a plurality of terminals in ascending order according to Carrier-to-Interference-and-Noise-Ratios (CINRs) based on the CINR measured by the plurality of terminals, classifies the plurality of terminals in one of a first group and a second group according to the order, allocates a subchannel of a data region corresponding to the first group from among a plurality of data regions included in the uplink frame to a terminal classified as the first group, and allocates a subchannel of a data region corresponding to the second group from among the data regions to a terminal classified as the second group.

The present invention relates to a femtocell search method for a handover from a macrocell to a femtocell. The present invention relates to a method for a terminal that accesses a macrocell to search a femtocell in an environment where a plurality of femtocells are overlapped in one macrocell. The terminal searches a femtocell by using a dummy preamble in order to minimize the size of neighbor cell lists broadcasted from the macrocell to the terminal. Therefore, according to the present invention, an MAC overhead can be minimized by eliminating neighbor femtocell lists in a mobile neighbor advertisement (MOB_NBR_ADV) message broadcasted from the macrocell, and the terminal can search a femtocell with a minimum scanning load by checking only a femtocell dummy preamble in a dedicated symbol of the macrocell.
