Abstract: A manufacturing method for optical lens devices includes: providing a first scratch-resistant layer on a first outer surface of a first protective layer having a structural reinforcement function to form a first reinforced protective layer; providing a second scratch-resistant layer on a second outer surface of a second protective layer having a structural reinforcement function to form a second reinforced protective layer; forming a containing space layer between a first inner surface of the first protective layer and a second inner surface of the second protective layer; providing an intermediate layer in the containing space layer; the first scratch-resistant layer and the first protective layer commonly protecting a first side of the containing space layer while the second scratch-resistant layer and the second protective layer commonly protecting a second side of the containing space layer.

Abstract: To form an optical body having a micro concave-convex structure on at least part of an adherend with high accuracy. Provided is an optical laminate including an adherend, a bonding layer formed on at least part of a surface of the adherend, and an optical body bonded to the adherend with the bonding layer. A micro concave-convex structure in which concavities and convexities are arranged at an average cycle less than or equal to a visible light wavelength is formed in at least one surface of the optical body. The bonding layer is provided on the other surface of the optical body. An initial 90° peeling force when peeling the optical body from a transfer body having an inverted concave-convex structure fitted in the micro concave-convex structure of the optical body is less than or equal to 70% of a 90° peeling force between the optical body and the bonding layer.

Abstract: A method of making a shaped abrasion-resistant multilayer optical film includes providing a curable composition comprising, based on the total weight of components a) to d) components: a) 87 to 96 weight percent of urethane (meth)acrylate compound having an average (meth)acrylate functionality of 2 to 4.8; b) 2 to 12.5 weight percent of (meth)acrylate monomer having a (meth)acrylate functionality of 1 to 2, wherein the (meth)acrylate monomer does not comprise a urethane (meth)acrylate compound; optionally c) 0.5 to 2 weight percent of silicone (meth)acrylate; and d) optional effective amount of photoinitiator. The curable composition is coated onto an MOF. Optionally, the curable composition to is at least partially dried. Next, the curable composition or the at least partially dried curable composition is at least partially cured to provide an abrasion-resistant multilayer optical film. Lastly, the abrasion-resistant multilayer optical film is thermoformed using a female mold having a mold surface. At least a portion of the mold surface has a radius of curvature of 58 to 76 mm and a maximum depth of 13 to 20 mm.

Abstract: An electrical connection between the backplane and the light-transmissive front electrode of an electrowetting device is provided by forming an aperture through the top front electrode coupled and a substrate coupled thereto and subsequently introducing a flowable, electrically-conductive material into the aperture. The flowable, electrically-conductive material provides an electrical contact between the light-transmissive electrically-conductive layer and the backplane.

Abstract: A method of installing a stack of two or more lenses on a curved substrate includes placing a moldable covering on a curved substrate, the moldable covering including a stack of two or more lenses, an adhesive layer interposed between each pair of adjacent lenses from among the two or more lenses, and a sacrificial layer disposed on an outermost lens of the stack, the sacrificial layer including a sacrificial lens and a sacrificial adhesive interposed between the sacrificial lens and the outermost lens of the stack. The method may include applying heat and pressure to the sacrificial layer and peeling off the sacrificial layer to reveal the stack of two or more lenses.
