摘要: An emergency floatation jacket providing emergency floatation capability in accidental deep-water immersion to keep the wearer's face above the water surface having front and back collar air reservoirs located adjacent to the upper edge of a backing support structure and front and back air reservoirs located at the lower edge of the backing support structure where reservoirs form air-pockets with the airtight front covering material when they are inflated with air. Total air volume of the upper floats equals the total capacity of the lower reservoirs and the air may be distributed by connecting air tubes to all floats and reservoirs when out of water thus providing minimum volume to any reservoir or float. In water, when worn by a heads-up person, all air is hydraulically forced into the three upper floats where sufficient upper floatation exists to keep their head above the water level.

摘要: An aerosol spray can (12) that can only be operated when connected to a utility a-c power source. Thus, the use of the spray can (12) to spray graffiti is prevented or at least minimized. The aerosol spray can (12) is modified by attaching to its upper surface (14) a can top seal (20) that includes an upper threaded section (22), a puncturable seal (30) and a lower siphon tube sleeve (32) to which is attached a conventional siphon tube (34). The can (12) functions in combination with a solenoid valve assembly (40) that is located within a vitreous housing (42) that includes a threaded lower end (68). When the valve assembly (40) is threaded into the cap top seal (20), the seal (30) is punctured allowing paint to flow upward into the valve assembly (40). The solenoid valve assembly (40) remains closed until it is opened by an energized separable or permanently attached magnetic coil (120) which is located around the valve assembly (40). The coil (120) is energized only when the utility a-c power source is applied to the coil (120) through an a-c line plug (132).

摘要: A computer monitor viewing device is provided which locates a monitor image at a comfortable viewing location and which is desirably suitable for use by most computer users and, in particular, by bifocal users. The device includes a first mirror positioned to reflect an image from a computer monitor screen and a second mirror which is positioned to reflect the image reflected by the first mirror toward the eyes of a viewer. Supports are also provided for positioning the first and second mirrors. Desirably, where the device is used in connection with a keyboard, the second mirror is positioned closer to the keyboard than the computer monitor screen, thereby allowing users, including bifocal wearers, to comfortably view the screen and the keyboard simultaneously. The device may also incorporate means to shield the user from radiation from the computer monitor.

摘要: A method and structure for generating and publishing random number fields for both low speed and high-speed encryption. The numbers which, are derived from natural non-algorithmic sources, allow the usage of high-speed encryption devices including voice activated devices. Combining the high-speed natural non-algorithmic number fields within a computer allows the formation of a computerized encryption and decryption device which operates in combination with a non-algorithmic low-speed and high-speed natural number-generator. The computer may periodically select non-algorithmic natural random numbers from the natural random n umber-generator and may utilize a prepared software program to insert the numbers into an algorithmic expansion program. The program converts less rapidly derived non-algorithmic natural random numbers to a high-speed series of natural numbers for Internet presentation and use.

摘要: A wireless-operated anti-graffiti spray can system (10) which allows a pressurized spray can (162) to be electronically operated from a remote location. The system (10) is disclosed in two designs: in the first design, a spray can activating device (38) consisting of a solenoid/valve assembly (42), which operates in combination with an electromagnetic coil (40), is used to control the spray can (162). In the second design, the activating device (38) consists of an electro-mechanical solenoid (138), which operates an articulated spray control leaf (142) that is used to the control the spray can (162). In both designs, a transmitting unit (12) is utilized that can only be enabled when connected to a utility a-c power source (160). The transmitting unit (12) produces an RF signal that is received by a receiving unit (28) located remotely and adjacent to the spray can activating device (38). The receiving unit produces a power signal which, in the first design, causes the activating device (38) to produce a magnetic field, thus causing the solenoid/valve assembly (42) to be energized; in the second design the power signal is applied directly to the solenoid (138) which causes the solenoid (138) to be energized. In both designs the spray can can only be used after, either the solenoid/valve assembly (42), or the solenoid (138) has been energized.

摘要: A balance-shifted personal carriage (19) designed for physically challenged persons such as paraplegics confined to wheelchairs. The carriage (19) basically consists of a base frame assembly (13) that supports a seating assembly (15) a pair of free pivoting wheels (18) located in the front, a pair of steerable wheels (20) controlled by the rider and located in the back, and a centrally located power wheel (22) that is controlled by the rider. The balanced-shifted carriage (19) is operated in either of two modes of operation: in Mode 1, the rider shifts their weight backwards to allow the steerable wheels to contact the floor at which time the power wheel (2) is made to rotate to propel the carriage; in Mode 2, the rider shifts their weight forward to cause the steerable wheels (20)to rise and allow the pivoting wheels (12) to contact the floor allowing the rider to pivot and move the carriage away from an obstacle.

摘要: A utility-power operated, tamper-proof pressurized spray can (12) that can only be operated when connected to a-c utility power. Thus, its use to spray graffiti is prevented or at the very least minimized. The preferred embodiment of the invention consists of a spray can (12) having a housing opening (12B) to which is hermetically attached a solenoid housing (14). The housing (14), encloses a standard spray control valve (18) having in series, a linear-motion solenoid assembly (22) consisting of a stationary armature (24), a movable armature (28) and an external, separable movable-armature activator (40). The stationary armature (24) is rigidly attached to the housing (12), has a lower guide tube bore (24H) therethrough and an upward facing spring cavity (24G) which retains a spring (26). The movable armature (28) is located atop the stationary armature (24) and has an upper guide bores (24H,28C) is inserted a guide tube (32) which functions to deliver paint and as a positioning guide for the movable armature (28). The activator (40) includes an electromagnetic coil (42) that fits over the solenoid housing (14). When a-c power is not applied to the activator (40), the movable armature (28) remains in an upward position that prevents paint flow. When power is applied, the movable armature (28) moves to a downward position which allows paint to flow when a spray head (20) in the spray control valve (18), is depressed.
