Abstract:
An variable output pump is disclosed. The variable output pump having a rotatable first shaft, a first pumping element mounted to the rotatable first shaft, and a coupling mechanism configured to couple the first pumping element to the first shaft for rotation therewith in a first mode, and decouple the first pumping element from the rotatable first shaft in a second mode. A method for varying the output of a fluid pump is also disclosed. The method including rotating a first pumping element and a second pumping element; and preventing rotation of the first pumping element in response to an increase in fluid pressure, while continuing to rotate the second pumping element.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system for detecting incidents within an area covered by CCTV network. Specifically, the present invention relates to utilising detections of gunshots to autonomously direct CCTV cameras to cover an area in which a gunshot was detected. The present invention provides a method for automatically directing CCTV cameras, wherein said CCTV cameras are each equipped with a microphone and are at known positions, comprising: filtering sounds received at each said microphone to detect a sound of a gunshot at at least three of the said CCTV cameras; triangulating a position of the gunshot from the three or more CCTV cameras known positions; and sending commands to the CCTV cameras around the position of the gunshot to point at the position of the gunshot.
Abstract:
A system and method of automatically dynamically scrolling content in a dimension to enhance user navigation and display of a relevant node is disclosed. In one example, when a user scrolls vertically to a node in a folder tree control where the node/folder name is not visible, the folder tree view may be automatically dynamically scrolled horizontally such that the full name of the folder is viewable. The automatic dynamic scrolling alleviates the effort and stress related to requiring a user to manually scroll a view in two dimensions in a tree control.
Abstract:
Enhancement of electronic ink is achieved by automatically displaying a contrasting outline for the ink. The outline provides a visual transition between the ink and the underlying background. The outlining color may be chosen independent of the background color(s). Thus, a user may choose any ink color desired, without regard to the background, and the written ink will be legible over the background. Moreover, the user does not need to change ink color based on the background, but instead may maintain the same ink color over the entire background if the user so desires.

Abstract:
A system and related techniques accept user-inputted search terms, for example to perform a search for files or other data or objects. Corresponding matches to those terms may be presented to the user in a “word-wheel”-type breakout list generated on the fly for groupings of hits by attributes or other criteria, as the system searches through the file system at the current level or point in the file system hierarchy. According to embodiments, when the search logic fails to locate a hit on the inputted search term at the current level or point in the file system hierarchy, an extension of the search to different levels or points in the file system hierarchy may be automatically generated, and for instance presented to the user as a selectable search box. That box may for example be highlighted to the user for easy selection. When the user does select the selectable search box, the user's search, for instance for files of type or extension “.doc” or “.memo”, may be seamlessly extended to other files, folders, trees or other points or levels in the file system hierarchy. Search results may be continuously or dynamically updated as the user, for example, enters more characters or other data.
Abstract:
Regulating a user of a computer-based service includes receiving input about a first user from at least one other user of the computer-based service, determining a degree to which the at least one other user can influence a parameter associated with the first user, and modifying the first user's parameter based on the received input and the determined degree of influence. The first user's parameter, for example, can relate to the first user's ability to use the computer-based service.
Abstract:
An improved vehicle ventilating window assembly which includes a non-circular pivot rod fitted within a circular opening in the window frame. A washer having spaced projections thereon is provided to fill the spaces created within the opening when the rod is inserted, thereby allowing a snug fit of the window within the frame with little or no transverse movement of the window with respect to the frame.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for producing data describing states of a plurality of targets using a processor in a system having at least one onboard sensor. The method includes obtaining data from at least one onboard sensor and performing a first data fusion process on the obtained onboard sensor data to produce onboard sensor fused data. Data is also obtained from at least one off-board sensor, and a second, different data fusion process is performed on the obtained off-board sensor data and the onboard sensor fused data to produce target state data.
