Abstract:
An approach for establishing a communication session according to a subscriber profile that is automatically updated is disclosed. A locator device, which is associated with a subscriber and includes a Global Positioning System (GPS) transponder, outputs geographic information that is transmitted to a communications network for establishing the communication session. The geographic information corresponds to one of a plurality of addresses specified in the subscriber profile to set a current address. The addresses are associated with a plurality of devices adapted to complete the communication session. The one address is designated as the current address if the geographic information corresponds to the one address, otherwise the current address is set to a default address, wherein the communication session is established based on the current address.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a media signal associated with a session established based on a session request. The session request is defined at a session exchange device associated with a media over internet protocol (MoIP) network. The method also includes sending a portion of the media signal to a dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) analysis module during a sampling time period after a non-sampling time period.

Abstract:
A method and system for modelling data that provides a constrained design space in which data is modelled is described. In particular, the invention provides for a method and system for modelling data wherein any real world entity is defined as an object of some particular type within an object table or data store. Real world entities also include things like databases, relational links between entity objects, as well as link and object types themselves. Relationships between entity objects can then be defined in a separate link database or table, which references entity objects stored within the object database or table with respect to a link type, which is also stored within the object database or table. Representing the data to be modelled within this way leads to the existence of an object hierarchy, which enables a system to define its own definitions. Moreover, since any data will be modelled within the same format, the design space is constrained, and hence it is easy to adapt a database in a format according to the present invention so as to enhance functionality, as well as to use generic software tools between different databases.
Abstract:
A correlation receiver, among other functions, detects peaks of a correlation signal. The correlation receiver includes a master peak detector for determining whether an amplitude of a pulse of the correlation signal exceeds by at least a first delta an amplitude of a prior peak. If so, the master peak detector designates the pulse as a peak and sets an amplitude of the peak as the amplitude of the prior peak increased by a second delta. The master peak detector may also determine whether the amplitude of the correlation signal pulse falls below an amplitude of the prior peak less a droop value; and, if so, the master peak detector does not designate the pulse as a peak.

An automated system for use in semiconductor manufacturing may include a semiconductor reaction chamber, a solid-state laser mounted above a top surface of the semiconductor reaction chamber, and a gas delivery module connected to the semiconductor reaction chamber. The system may include a gas exhaust pump connected to the semiconductor reaction chamber, a temperature sensor connected to the semiconductor reaction chamber, and a housing surrounding the reaction chamber, the solid-state laser, the gas delivery module, the gas exhaust pump, and the temperature sensor, where the housing is portable.
Abstract:
A system for removing photoresist from semiconductor wafers is disclosed. The system utilizes a solid-state laser having wavelengths in the near-visible and visible portions of the electromagnetic spectrum to remove photoresist without requiring hazardous gases or wet solutions. In addition, the system does not damage the substrate being cleaned, nor leave a carbon residue requiring further processing to remove. The system uses photon energy, oxygen, water vapor and ozone to interact with contaminants on a surface, forming a gas reaction zone (GRZ). The GRZ reacts and completely removes the photoresist or other unwanted contamination.
Abstract:
An optical fiber terminating assembly has an outer body (10), a first member (11) locatable in the outer body (10) and which carries a protruding length of optical fiber (36) which locates an alignment structure (44, 45) and a housing (12) locatable in alignment with the first member (11). The housing (12) has an access opening for receiving an optical fiber (52, 53) to be terminated so that the fiber can be located in the alignment structure in abutment with the optical fiber length (35). The housing has a compartment (47) which receives a heat responsive adhesive element (57), a saddle (58) and a resistor (59). When a current is passed through the resistor, the heat generated is transmitted by the saddle to the adhesive which melts and flows around the optical fiber (52, 53) to secure it in position in abutment with the optical fiber length (35).
Abstract:
A roll for a web printing press includes a cylindrical member configured for supporting a web, the cylindrical member being rotatable about an axis of rotation. A motor device is disposed at the axis of rotation for rotating the cylindrical member so as to advance the web over the cylindrical member during a webbing-up operation.
