    Abstract: A method for protecting an on-board charging device includes the steps of detecting the phase and neutral voltages coming from the grid, detecting a current signal representing a compensation current generated by a compensation circuit, combining the phase voltages together so as to obtain a homopolar voltage signal, squaring the current signal and the homopolar voltage signal so as to obtain a first square current wave and a second square voltage wave, combining the first and second square waves together so as to generate an output signal having a first logic level when the first and second square waves are in phase and a second logic level when the first and second square waves are out of phase, generating a voltage increasing in proportion to the duration of each section of the output signal having the first value, comparing the voltage value with a limit value and generating an alarm signal when the voltage level exceeds the limit value.

    Abstract: A drive system for a hybrid or electric vehicle includes an electrical energy source; an electric machine, a switching device linked to the electric machine and selectively switchable between a first configuration, and a second configuration, an adjusting device linked to the electric machine and configured to vary its operating parameters, and a control unit. The first electrical configuration includes a first number of conductors in series by phase supplying a first driving torque with a first knee speed and a first no-load operation speed. The second electrical configuration includes a second number of conductors in series by phase supplying a second driving torque, lower than the first driving torque, and a second knee speed higher than the first knee speed. A ratio between the first no-load operation speed and the second knee speed is between 0.7 and 1.3.

    Abstract: An electronic device for controlling an ignition coil of an internal combustion engine includes a high voltage switch, a driving unit and a control unit. The driving unit controls the closure of the switch during charging energy in the primary winding and the opening of the switch during transferring energy from the primary winding to a secondary winding. A current measuring circuit is connected in series to a second terminal of the secondary winding to detect current generated on the secondary winding during the charging step and generate a signal representative of the detected current. The control unit receives the signal representative of the current detected by the measuring circuit, compares a relevant value of such signal with a predefined first reference value and activates a mode for detecting a soiling of the spark plug when the relevant value of the signal exceeds said predefined first reference value.

    Abstract: An electronic ignition system for an internal combustion engine. The system includes a coil having a primary winding with a first terminal and a second terminal and a secondary winding connected to a spark plug. A high voltage switch is serially connected to the primary winding. A control terminal carries a control signal to control the opening or closing of the high voltage switch. A first switch is interposed between a battery voltage and the first terminal of the primary winding, a second switch is interposed between the first terminal of the primary winding and a reference voltage, a third switch is interposed between the second terminal of the primary winding and said reference voltage. A driving unit is configured to generate signals to control the switches during a charging phase, during a transfer of energy phase, and during a measure phase of ionization current.

    Abstract: A plasma ignition device for internal combustion engines is described. It comprises a driving and analog and/or digital control unit, an ignition coil and a spark plug, interconnected each other in a circuit by means of electrical/electronic connection means.
