Disclosed herein is a method of managing data in an asymmetric cluster file system. In this method, if an OPEN request for the opening of an absent file has been received, a metadata server assigns a file handle value and a file name and then generates a file in a data server. Thereafter, the metadata server copies a file stored in the data server or the generated file to one or more data servers based on a preset copying level. Thereafter, a client performs a file operation on the files stored in the data servers.

Disclosed is a system for tracking an object in an image. A method for tracking an object in an image according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes generating an object model represented by multiple patch histograms of an object that is divided into N partial patch regions and histograms are built from each patch region, forming an object model; estimating the probability of each image pixel being an object pixel; and determining the most promising location of an object in the image by using the estimated object probability values. According to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to more improve separability from a background than a case in which a single histogram mode is used, to increase tracking performance, and to more accurately search the object region than a mean-shift method of the related art.

Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for fast path search using learning of a heuristic function according to the present invention. An apparatus for fast path search according to the present invention includes: an input unit to receive destination information from a user, and to receive a search request for a path to the received destination information; a location recognizing unit to obtain current location information of the user when the search request for the path is received; and a control unit to search a map for a path from a start node corresponding to the current location information to a destination node corresponding to the destination information using a heuristic evaluation function.

Provided are a method and apparatus for transceiving an asymmetric point-to-point moving signal and securing an uplink channel using a horizontal blanking interval (HBI) in which a video signal transceiving apparatus can combine a plurality of HBIs and a plurality of active lines (ALs) into a single section, and when auxiliary data exists in a corresponding HBI, can change an order of the HBI to the last and transmit map information including arrangement information to a video signal display apparatus, and the video signal display apparatus can receive the map information and analyze the received map information to thereby acquire an uplink channel using HBI excluding auxiliary data and transmit control signal data via the acquired uplink channel.

An apparatus and method detects an object in an original image captured by an image capturing device. The apparatus and method detects a location of the object using a thermal image for the captured image, designates a region of the detected object as an image inpainting region, restores a region corresponding to the region of the detected object using its surrounding information, examines a difference between the restored image and the original image, and separates an object region from the original image, thereby more accurately detecting the object.
