    摘要: The present invention relates to an optical pickup having a constant numerical aperture even if spherical aberration is compensated for. The optical pickup is used in an information recording and/or reproducing machine. The information recording and/or reproducing machine records and/or reproduces information in a recording medium upon radiation of a light beam from a light source. The optical pickup includes a condensing optical system for condensing the light beam from the light source onto a recording layer of the recording medium. The condensing optical system includes an object lens. The condensing optical system also includes an aperture positioned about a focal length of the object lens apart from a position of a principal incidence plane of the object lens toward the light source along an optical axis of the condensing optical system.

    摘要: A pickup drive apparatus for recording or reproducing with respect to a recording medium such as a CD and a DVD. In the apparatus, return light produced by irradiating an optical spot is detected by a photodetector, and a push-pull signal is produced from this detection output. A tracking error signal is produced from the push-pull signal by a low-pass filter and a phase compensating circuit. A quasi-ON/OFF control signal having information of an irradiation position of the optical spot is produced from the push-pull signal by a high-pass filter, a comparator, and a single pulse generator. When the quasi-ON/OFF control signal is produced which indicates that the optical spot is positioned on a groove, the tracking error signal is outputted via switching circuits in synchronism with this signal production. A pickup is servo-controlled based on this output signal.

    摘要: A light source is provided for emitting a light beam. The light beam from the light source is applied to a recording and reproducing plane of an optical disc and to a front surface of a transparent substrate of the optical disc. A photodetector is provided for detecting return light beams from the recording and reproducing plane and the front surface. A first signal is generated based on an output signal of the photodetector dependent on the return light beam from the recording and reproducing plane, and a second signal is generated based on an output signal of the photodetector dependent on the return light beam from the front surface. A signal relating to thickness information on a thickness of the transparent substrate is produced by comparing the first and second signals with each other.

    摘要: A magnetic optical disk player comprises a turn table for turning a magnetic optical disk, guides for guiding a recording head carriage and an erasing head carriage along two different radial directions of the turn table, drivers for individually driving the recording head carriage and the erasing head carriage, and bias magnets for generating bias magnetic fields distributed along moving areas of the recording and erasing head carriages and having the directions opposite to each other, wherein the drivers include movable coils coupled with the recording head carriage and the erasing head carriage, drive magnets for generating drive magnetic fields interlinking the recording head coil and the erasing head coil, and a leaking flux from the drive magnets passes through the plane in the same direction of the bias magnetic field. The directions of the bias magnetic fields for erasing and recording heads are opposite to each other. The drive magnetic fields for positioning the erasing head carriage and the recording head carriage are also opposite to each other. The bias magnetic field and the drive magnetic field are additively coupled with each other.

    摘要: A photo-electro-magnetic disc device has a photo-electro-magnetic disc accommodated in a disc cartridge load as a unit into cartridge holder loaded in the disc device. The cartridge holder with the end of a loading mechanism moves the disc onto a turn table. An optical head and a magnetic field applying part for recording data are loaded facing opposite sides of the disc. Magnetic members are provided on the same side of the disc as is the optical head and are connected to the cartridge holder which is made of magnetic material as to confront magnetic field applying part through the disc. A magnetic circuit which includes the disc is thus formed whereby the magnetic flux from the magnetic field applying part passes through the disc thereby providing a high magnetic field strength throughout the entire region of the disc to be irradiated by a light spot from the optical head.

    摘要: An optical element includes a first microlens array unit and a second microlens array unit in each of which a plurality of microlenses are arranged. The first and second microlens array units are arranged opposite to each other with a distance which is longer than a focal length of the microlenses arranged in the first microlens array unit. The first microlens unit is arranged on a light-incident side with respect to the second microlens array unit. The interval between the microlenses arranged in the second microlens array unit is narrower than the interval between the microlenses arranged in the first microlens array unit. The optical element can appropriately suppress the occurrence of excessive pixel bright spot.

    摘要: An optical element includes first and second microlens array units on which microlenses are arranged. The microlenses are formed by lens contour having a polygonal shape in a plan view. The first and second microlens array units are arranged opposite to each other at a position where a distance between the first and second microlens array units is at least longer than a focal distance of the microlens, and are formed so that a direction of vertices of the lens contour of the microlens arranged on the first microlens array unit is different from a direction of vertices of the lens contour of the microlens arranged on the second microlens array unit. According to the above optical element, it is possible to appropriately suppress an influence of shift of the position between the first and second microlens array units, and it becomes possible to produce the optical element with ease.

By moving the collimator lens (161) in a direction parallel with the optical axis, spherical aberration is corrected in accordance with the BD. A collimator lens (162) is disposed on an optical axis in correspondence with a CD and a DVD. By moving the collimator lens (162) in a direction parallel with the optical axis, spherical aberration is corrected in accordance with the CD and DVD. The collimator lenses are integrally held by a lens holder (163). A step motor (164) moves the lens holder (163) so that the collimator lenses (161, 162) move in directions parallel with the optical axes.

    摘要: An aberration correcting device is placed in an optical path extending from a light source of an optical pickup apparatus for irradiating a light beam onto an optical disk to the optical disk. The device includes a pair of light-transmission substrates at least one of which is held freely movable in a way that a major surface thereof moves in a direction vertical to the optical path, and which have complementary curved surfaces facing, and apart from, each other. The curved surfaces are formed in such a manner as to cause the optical path length of a light beam transmitting the pair of light-transmission substrates to be changed by movement of the light-transmission substrates, thus imparting a phase difference to a transmitting light beam, while allowing the phase difference to keep an advancing direction of the light beam thereby to minimize a comatic aberration caused by the optical disk.
