Abstract:
A loom shuttle having a yarn receiving chamber including yarn restraining elements in the chamber, the yarn restraining elements are so arranged as to enable yarn to be loaded without restraint and to apply restraint to the yarn as it is being withdrawn thus to prevent entanglement of the yarn during withdrawal.
Abstract:
A dual sensor camera that uses two aligned sensors each having a separate lens of different focal length but the same f-number. The wider FOV image from one sensor is combined with the narrower FOV image from the other sensor to form a combined image. Up-sampling of the wide FOV image and down-sampling of the narrow FOV image is performed. The longer focal length lens may have certain aberrations introduced so that Extended Depth of Field (EDoF) processing can be used to give the narrow FOV image approximately the same depth of field as the wide FOV image so that a noticeable difference in depth of field is not see in the combined image.
Abstract:
Imaging systems and methods for calibrating imaging systems are provided. The imaging system has a body, a scene image capture system that captures images using a taking lens system that can be set to a plurality of different focus distances, and a rangefinder that is capable of determining a distance between the imaging system and at least one portion of a field of view of the taking lens system. The method comprises: automatically capturing a first calibration image of a first field of view through the taking lens system with the taking lens system set to a first focus distance setting; identifying a portion of the first calibration image having a predetermined degree of focus; using the rangefinder to determine a first calibration distance from the imaging device to the identified portion. A focus correlation is determined based upon the first calibration distance and the first focus distance setting.
Abstract:
A mechanism for a gripper Axminster loom is disclosed which includes a plurality of yarn carriers each of which is movable to any one of a plurality of predetermined positions. Each carrier guides a plurality of tuft yarn and is arranged to present one of the yarns to a gripper when the carrier is located at a corresponding one of the predetermined positions. The mechanism includes a plurality of independently controllable rotary drive motors, each of which is connected to drive an associated carrier for selectively moving the associated carrier to a selected one of the predetermined positions.
Abstract:
A printer system for producing color prints includes: (a) three light sources, each generating a light beam of different wavelengths; (b) three modulators, each of the modulators modulating intensity of each of the light beams by image data, to provide three modulated light beams; (c) a beam combiner combining the three modulated light beams into a single light beam; (d) a single set of beam shaping optics shaping this single light beam into a shaped light beam having different vergences and waist locations in the page and line directions, the vergences and the waist locations being substantially the same in each of the three wavelengths; (e) a light deflector deflecting the shaped light beam to provide a deflected beam, and performing a scanning function; (f) an f-.theta. lens focusing the deflected light beam onto an associated image surface.
Abstract:
A rear attachment is provided to permit objective lens systems designated for a certain image format to be used for imaging on a smaller image format. Thus, a 35 mm single lens reflex camera lens can be used to create an image on a smaller format CCD array.
Abstract:
A heald assembly for leno weaving, the assembly including first and second heald frames each of which is adapted for slidable reception in heald guides of a weaving loom, at least one of the heald frames including a main frame and a sub-frame carrying a plurality of dents spaced in the weft direction of the one heald frame, the sub-frame being co-planar with the main frame and being movably mounted on the main frame for reciprocal movement in the weft direction.
Abstract:
A weft yarn store for looms has a stationary drum (10) for storing a weft yarn supply (23) and a braking device (13) at the end of the drum. A resiliently deformable brake element (132) is movable by means of an adjusting device (131) relatively to a braking surface of the drum. The adjusting device may be an annular electromagnet 131 and is in direct operative engagement with low-inertia parts of the brake element 132. Such parts can be finger-like lamellae disposed one beside another on the outer drum periphery (10). The action of the braking device can therefore be accurately adjusted to the departing weft yarn so that the same is retarded gently at the end of picking into a loom.
Abstract:
A heald rod retention device for selectively engaging the terminal end portion of a reciprocating heald rod, the retention device having an electrically activatable magnet for laterally deflecting the terminal end portion from its path of reciprocation, the magnet including north and south poles located side by side and extending along the path of travel of the heald rod so as to create a magnetic flux path across the width of the rod.
Abstract:
An optical navigation device that can sense the movement of an object, such as a user's finger, so that the movement can control a feature of a consumer digital device such as a cursor on a display screen. The device includes a substrate to which an LED, reflector, and image sensor are attached. Light from the LED is directed by the elliptical reflector toward and through a window that is transparent to the light from the LED and then is reflected off of the user's finger back through the window, through a lens, and onto the image sensor. The reflector is positioned to direct light toward the window at an oblique angle, in the range of 65 to 70 degrees from an angle normal to the window. Further, the reflector is curved to gather light across a large solid angle in the vicinity of the LED. The curved shape of the reflector may be a portion of an ellipsoid and the LED may be located at one of the foci of the ellipsoid, with the window located at the other foci of the ellipsoid.
