摘要： A reinforcement pad for protecting a liner of a pool from damage caused by a user ascending and descending a pool ladder having two upper ends and two lower ends. The reinforcement pad has a substantially oval pad base and a substantially cylindrical socket extending therefrom. The socket, which has a centrally located bore, is mateable with only one lower ladder end. A user inserts one lower ladder end into the bore of the socket of one reinforcement pad. The user then repeats this step with the other lower ladder end and another reinforcement pad. Next, the user positions the pad base against the pool liner and attaches the upper ladder ends to the pool deck. The pad distributes pressure applied to the ladder over the wider area of the lower surface of the pad base, thereby preventing the liner from becoming damaged.

摘要： The invention relates to an optical reading system comprising an optical reader and a host processor. In one aspect of the invention, the host processor may be configured to transmit a component control instruction in response to a user input command input by a user of the host processor to remotely control the reader. The optical reader subsequently receives the transmitted component control instruction and executes the component control instruction substantially on receipt thereof. In one embodiment, execution of the component control instruction by the optical reader has the same effect as the reader trigger being manually pulled by a reader operator.

摘要： A phase-locked loop circuit is disclosed which exhibits a wide capture range and a low quality factor (Q) to prevent ringing and improve stability without adding area, increasing power consumption or increasing noise levels. The phase-locked loop includes a comparator to generate an error signal, an oscillator which generates an output signal in response to a control signal and a loop filter which generates the control signal based on the error signal. The loop filter includes a first integrator operatively coupled through a threshold limit detector to a second integrator. The threshold limit detector supplies an electric charge to the second integrator only when the first integrator is proximate to either an upper limit or a lower limit of the first integrator's operating range. The oscillator generates the output signal which tracks the input reference signal frequency as an integer multiple of the input reference signal frequency. The oscillator generates the output signal in response to varying current levels of the control signal. The loop filter further includes a pump-up and a pump-down charge pump that act in tandem under activation by the threshold limit detector. The loop filter includes a duty cycle limiter switch that limits the supply of the charge to the second integrator to a predetermined time period.

摘要： An alkaline electric storage cell comprises a container within which are positive and negative pocket plates separated by composite separators. Each separator has a lower portion which is of conventional ladder type having a substantially open area and an upper portion which is a strip of absorbent fibrous material. The cell is filled with electrolyte up to a level which is slightly above the bottom of the strips. The high discharge rate voltage of the cell is scarcely impaired by comparison with a conventional cell, but the oxygen that is evolved at the end of charge is recombined at those portions of the negative plates which are above the electrolyte level but retained moist with electrolyte by the absorbent strips. The cell thus loses no electrolyte and is of no-maintenance type at charging rates of up to C/60 or more.
