    摘要: A method is disclosed that includes selecting one or more terminals involved in a device-to-device communication to which interference caused by a transmission to one or more other terminals should be suppressed, and choosing a number of degrees of freedom from a predetermined number of degrees of freedom to be used to suppress interference towards the selected one or more terminals. The method also includes using the remaining degrees of freedom from the predetermined number to increase signal quality to the one or more other terminals and performing precoding based on the chosen number of degrees of freedom and the remaining degrees of freedom. The method further includes, using at least the performed precoding, transmitting information to the one or more other terminals. Apparatus and programs/program products are also disclosed.

A first apparatus includes: a controller configured to control transmitter circuitry to transmit, according to a first communication protocol, a first request to a second apparatus, the first request being for assisting a wireless communication link, according to a second communication protocol, to be established between the apparatus and a third apparatus. In response to receiving the first request, the second apparatus transmits a second request to the third apparatus. The third apparatus is configured to transmit signals at a rate, each signal being for enabling a wireless communication link to be established between the third apparatus and another apparatus (such as the first apparatus). In response to receipt of the second request, the third apparatus changes the rate at which the signals are transmitted.

    摘要: There is a method and apparatus for transmitting a beacon for D2D communications in a first radio resource selected from among a first set of radio resources of a beacon frame; and for transmitting a broadcast message in a second radio resource selected from among a second set of radio resources of the same beacon frame. In various particular embodiments: the beacon has an indication that the broadcast message is to be transmitted in the beacon frame; the beacon has an indication specifying the second radio resource; there is transmitted a broadcast message header in the second radio resource during an initial subframe of the beacon frame and the broadcast message header has an indication of how many subframes are allocated for the broadcast message; and the broadcast message header has a retransmission control field that selectively indicates which broadcast partners are to re-transmit the broadcast message.

    摘要: In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, a method comprises broadcasting from a user equipment (UE) having means for device to device (D2D) communication a beacon comprising an OFDM beacon frame comprising a plurality of beacon fields; receiving at least one random access request from at least one neighbor device to trigger handshake signaling for establishment of a D2D connection; responding to one of the at least one random access request with an acknowledgement beacon including at least an identifier of the UE to confirm the D2D connection with the selected neighbor device; discovering available resources; and exchanging said resource information in the handshake signaling with the neighbor devices.
