Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for performing column inversion using reordered image data are provided. In one example, an electronic display may include a display panel with columns of pixels and driver circuitry to drive the pixels using column inversion. The driver circuitry may drive pixels of a first superpixel in a first color order and drive pixels of an adjacent second superpixel in a second color order, such that more pixels are driven sequentially at a common polarity than would have been driven sequentially at the common polarity were the pixels of the first superpixel driven at the same color order as the pixels of the second superpixel.
Abstract:
Present techniques involve methods and systems of inversion patterns for pixels in a display. Inversion techniques involve driving image signals having a first polarity to data lines of a pixel matrix during a first time period and driving image signals having an opposite polarity to the data lines during a second time period. In some embodiments, the pixels may be configured to have electrodes having only two finger electrodes, thus widening the distance between electrodes and decreasing the susceptibility for crosstalk between pixels. In some embodiments, horizontal cross-talk of electromagnetic fields between pixels may be further reduced by configuring the data line driving scheme such that voltage polarity is flipped for the pixels along every two, three, or more data line columns. Furthermore, a Z inversion pattern may be employed to reduce the occurrence of undesirable display artifacts.
Abstract:
Light load efficiency of a power factor correction circuit is improved by adaptive on-time control and providing for selection between a continuous conduction mode and a discontinuous conduction mode wherein the discontinuous conduction mode increases time between switching pulses controlling connection of a cyclically varying voltage to a filter/inductor that delivers a desired DC voltage and thus can greatly reduce the switching frequency at light loads where switching frequency related losses dominate efficiency. The mode for controlling switching is preferably selected for each switching pulse within a half cycle of the cyclically varying input voltage. A multi-phase embodiment allows cancellation of EMI noise at harmonics of the switching frequency and adaptive change of phase angle allows for cancellation of dominant higher order harmonics as switching frequency is reduced.
Abstract:
An electronic device may have a display such as a liquid crystal display. The display may have multiple layers of material such as a color filter layer and a thin-film transistor layer. An opaque masking layer may be formed on a display layer such as the color filter layer. In an inactive portion of the display, the opaque masking layer may form a rectangular ring that serves as a border region surrounding a rectangular active portion of the display. In the active portion of the display, the opaque masking layer may be patterned to from an opaque matrix that separates color filter elements in an array of color filter elements. The opaque masking layer and color filter elements may be formed from polymers such as photoresist. The opaque masking layer may include a black pigment such as carbon black. Color filter elements and opaque masking material may include multiple sublayers.

Demodulation reference signals and data are transmitted to a receiving terminal through time/frequency resources of the radio communication system using a resource block as a base unit. The method includes arranging at least two orthogonal DM-RSs in two edge OFDM symbols for resource blocks of respective cells, a frequency offset existing between cells at positions of the orthogonal DM-RSs in the edge OFDM symbols, performing puncturing at positions corresponding to the orthogonal DM-RSs of the other cells in the edge OFDM symbols of the respective cells, arranging superimposing DM-RSs in the two edge OFDM symbols in a resource block of one cell and arranging the superimposing DM-RSs at positions corresponding to the resource blocks of the other cells, wherein positions of the superimposing DM-RSs are set between the positions of the orthogonal DM-RSs in the respective edge OFDM symbols.

Abstract:
A liquid crystal display (LCD) is provided having a discontinuous electrode. In certain embodiments, finger- or slit-like extensions of the discontinuous electrode may be shaped to reduce or eliminate disclinations of liquid crystals within a pixel aperture used to transmit light, where the liquid crystals are oriented in response to an electric field generated using the discontinuous electrode. Similarly, in other embodiments, the different portions of the discontinuous electrode may be lengthened to extend under an opaque mask or may not be linked at one end to reduce or eliminate the disclinations.
Abstract:
A footrest apparatus for a wheelchair and the like has a pair of supporting frame configurations supporting a pair of foot plates to be position in a first position for use and a second position for transportation and/or storage. Each of the supporting frame configurations has a connecting shaft rotatably received in a vertical tube of a front wheel assembly. The vertical tube is affixed to a frame structure of the wheelchair and the like. The connecting shaft and the vertical tube in combination bear and transfer a foot load of the user and therefore a locking device provided between the connecting shaft and the vertical tube for locking the connecting frame configuration in a selected one of the first and second positions, will not bear the foot load, resulting a configuration convenience for conducting an unlock action.
