摘要： A machine readable disc in which a machine readable application program, a digital stream, and management information including plural pieces of play list information which define playback paths of the digital stream are recorded. The machine readable application program is readable by a virtual machine included in a machine. A life cycle during which the machine readable application program can be read and executed by the virtual machine is specified. The management information includes information that indicates a predetermined piece of play list information, among plural pieces of play list information, which defines a playback path of the digital stream that is played back by a playback control engine included in the machine during the life cycle, simultaneously with the execution of the machine readable application program.

摘要： A parallax map acquisition unit acquires a parallax map indicating a parallax value for each pixel in a set of main-view data and sub-view data constituting stereoscopic video images. A parallax map assessment unit assesses the accuracy of the acquired parallax map. A stereoscopic intensity adjustment method selection unit selects either pixel shifting by a DIBR execution unit using the parallax map or plane shifting by a plane shift execution unit. The DIBR execution unit and the plane shift execution unit adjust stereoscopic intensity in accordance with the selection of the stereoscopic intensity adjustment method by the stereoscopic intensity adjustment method selection unit.

摘要： Original data is copied from a read-only recording medium to a rewritable portable recording medium. A data storage unit stores therein updated data and mapping information indicating a path of the updated data in the virtual package. A determination unit determines, from the mapping information, a match between a path on the portable recording medium of first stream data included in the original data and a path in the virtual package of second stream data included in the updated data. When the match is determined, the recording control unit instructs that the first stream data be deleted from the portable recording medium. The recording control unit further instructs that the updated data be written on the portable recording medium. The data recording unit further writes and deletes data in response to the instructions from the recording control unit.

When (i) the digital stream supports 3D mode and (ii) the current playback mode is 3D mode, a demultiplexer 204 separates the left-view video stream and the right-view video stream from the digital stream, and when condition (i) or (ii) is not met, the demultiplexer 204 separates either the left-view video stream or the right-view video stream from the digital stream.
