Abstract:
Generally, the present disclosure is directed to systems that may be used to facilitate the retrieval and/or replacement of production and/or processing equipment that may be used for subsea oil and gas operations. In one illustrative embodiment, a method is disclosed that includes, among other things, removing at least a portion of trapped production fluid (101a, 101b) from subsea equipment (100) while the subsea equipment (100) is connected to a subsea equipment installation (185) in a subsea environment (180), and storing at least the removed portion of the trapped production fluid (101a, 101b) in a subsea containment structure (120, 120a, 120b, 132) that is positioned in the subsea environment (180). Additionally, the disclosed method also includes disconnecting the subsea equipment (100) from the subsea equipment installation (185) and retrieving the subsea equipment (100) from the subsea environment (180).
Abstract:
An alkaloid composition for an e-cigarette contains a solvent and at least about 25 wt. % anatabine based on the total alkaloid weight of the composition. The alkaloid composition may be contained in a refilling cartridge for an e-cigarette, or in a container as part of a kit for refilling an e-cigarette. The alkaloid compositions disclosed herein feature a balanced form of alkaloids to provide an attractive alternative to smoking tobacco, in which nicotine makes up about 90 wt. % of the total alkaloid content. The alkaloid compositions are characterized by a significant quantity of anatabine, which has lower toxicity than other alkaloids such as nicotine. The alkaloid compositions enable individuals to experience the pleasure-enhancing attributes of conventional cigarette smoking, while avoiding exposure to combusted materials and other potentially hazardous components present in tobacco.
Abstract:
A nominal type framework can be configured to efficiently correlate different nominal types together based on a minimum set of common type shapes or structures. In one implementation, a developer identifies a number of different nominal types of interest (source types), and identifies the minimum set of common type shapes to be accessed by an application program. The minimum set of common type shapes can then be used to create an intermediate type (target type) to which each of the other different source types can be mapped. For example, one or more proxies can be created that map shapes of the one or more source types to corresponding shapes of the created target type. The application program created by the developer, in turn, can access, operate on, or otherwise use the mapped data of each different source type through a single target type.
Abstract:
Methods for control of NOx emission in the incineration of tail gas are provided wherein tail gas that comprises NOx, NOx precursors, or both is introduced into a combustor and diluent is introduced into the combustor for controlling the combustor temperature to a temperature of from about 950° C. to about 1100° C. Methods also are provided for reducing NOx emissions by controlling air-to-fuel ratio in a tail gas combustor while controlling the combustor flame temperature through diluent injections. A boiler unit for carrying out these methods also is provided. A system for carbon black production using the boiler unit also is provided.

Abstract:
A toolbar transport system for extending and retracting a large agricultural toolbar. Forward and rearward folding segments of the toolbar allow the toolbar assembly to retract against the sides of the vehicle without interfering with the steering wheels. A forward-folding segment and rearward-folding segment of each lateral toolbar section connect to provide steering wheel clearance in the transfer position and an integrated lateral toolbar with regularly-spaced ground-engaging implements in the application position. Gauge wheel assemblies assist in the extension and deployment of the toolbar assembly.
Abstract:
A training device and related method designed to provide a user or trainee with a realistic tactile sensation or feel for inserting a penetrating device, such as a tracheotomy tube, into the stoma of a subject. The device and method provides a means for providing the user with a high level of initial resistance followed by a relatively quick transition to a lower level of resistance. The resistance will change after the user has pushed the penetrating device past a certain threshold of force or displacement. The resulting transition to a lower level of force, or “pop”, provides the user with a realistic feel to prepare them for procedures on the stoma of an actual subject. A user may then become acclimated to the feel of proper insertion technique. The training device may also be used to train care, cleaning, maintenance, suction, and ventilation of a subject as necessary.
Abstract:
Described are a method and a system for generating a weather radar display. The method includes determining proxy meteorological radar data for a first area of a geographical region for which meteorological radar data are unavailable. The proxy data are determined from a plurality of alternative meteorological data streams each having data representative of a value of a different meteorological parameter that is not observable by radar. The method further includes determining graphical meteorological radar data for the geographical region based on the proxy meteorological radar data for the first area in the geographical region and meteorological radar data for a second area in the geographical region. Examples of graphical meteorological radar data that are generated include vertically integrated liquid, composite reflectivity and echo tops data.
