A resource reservation system and method in a multihoming environment are disclosed. The method includes: transmitting query messages from the mobile node to multiple adjacent access routers using a plurality of care of addresses (CoAs) stored in the mobile node; transmitting the query messages from the adjacent access routers to a crossover node; at one or more intermediate nodes on a communication path between the adjacent access routers and the crossover node, recording available resource information in the query messages; receiving the query messages at a predetermined correspondent node; analyzing, at the correspondent node, the recorded available resource information in the received query messages and selecting a communication path which transferred a query message containing available resource information indicating the available resources required by the mobile node; and transmitting a resource reservation message from the correspondent node to the mobile node through the selected communication path.

A mobile node reports a start of a handover to a present access router if the handover of the mobile node occurs, and the previous access router transmits specified session information to a candidate access router that has a possibility handling the mobile node's handover. A candidate crossover router, which performs a resource reservation work on a new path and a resource release on the previous path, is searched, and a localized resource reservation is established by exchanging a specified resource reservation message before the handover is completed if the candidate crossover router is determined. Accordingly, duplication of resources can be prevented, and a prompt resource reservation can be achieved during the handover.

An end-to-end quality-of-service (QoS) interoperation apparatus and method in a heterogeneous network environment are provided. A Next Steps In Signaling (NSIS) Application Programming Interface (NAPI) block handles an NSIS API at the request of an upper layer. An NSIS entity handles an NSIS protocol stack at the request of the NAPI block. An Internet Protocol Bearer Service (IP BS) manager manages an IP BS. A translation block translates parameters of a 3GPP_CLASS object and a UMTS QoS class predefined in an NSIS message according to a predetermined mapping configuration. A memory stores a software application including a Universal Mobile Telecommunication System Bearer Service (UMTS BS) manager for managing a UMTS BS. A processor combined with the memory, controls the software application.

A queue management method of an access network device includes receiving a packet, determining feasibility of a packet transmission within a delivery deadline allowed from a destination if the received packet is for real-time transmission, storing the packet in the transmission queue and transmitting the packet in sequential order of the storage when the packet transmission within the delivery deadline is feasible, and dropping the packet instead of storing the packet in the transmission queue when the packet transmission is determined infeasible. Accordingly, resources required for the packet transmission are saved.

The information protection system in this invention suggests a drastic prevention method of copyrights infringement such as illegal copy and unauthorized distribution of digital content, by using of the encryption, decryption, distribution, and authentication technologies. This invention suggests the control technology of general viewer program, not the specific viewer program for information protection, using a network filter driver for streaming and file system filter driver for download service. The main function of network and file system filter driver is the filtering operation such as a hooking, changing, decrypting, and restoring of message and data packet, and transferring to the viewer program. The main idea and technology of this invention suggest higher secure and efficient digital information protection system for live/VOD/HTTP streaming and download service.
