    摘要: A telecommunications system is operable to provide a facility for a communications session to a mobile node using an internet protocol. When changing affiliation from one of a first and second packet data network to the other of the first and second packet data network, a mobile node is operable to generate a service level identifier representing a requested priority to be afforded to the internet packets communicated to and from the mobile node with respect to other internet packets communicated to and from other nodes. The mobile node is also operable to generate a binding update internet packet providing a care of address of the mobile and an indication of the service level identifier in the binding update internet packet and to communicate the binding update internet data packets to a home agent of the mobile node. The home agent is operable in response to the binding update to identify the service level identifier and to communicate the internet packets in accordance with the requested priority represented by the service level identifier. The telecommunications system can prioritise the transmission of internet packets according to a priority requested by the mobile node represented by the service level identifier thus reducing a likelihood that mobile node will experience delays or interruptions in the transmission of data.

    摘要: A method and system for transferring user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system are disclosed. According to the method, a source core (CN) network determines to transfer a UE that it serves and sends a transfer instruction carrying UE transfer restriction information to the UE; an access network receives a transfer request that is sent by the UE according to the restriction information carried in the transfer instruction; the access network selects a target CN entity that is different from the source CN entity for the UE; and the UE is transferred to the target CN entity. The method and system provided by the present invention are applicable to user transferring between CN entities in any communication network. The transferring is initiated by a network side entity, and a more preferable CN entity is selected for the UE to provide a better service.

    摘要: Some embodiments provide a director agent, a server agent, and a specialized hand-off protocol for improving scalability and resource usage within a server farm. A first network connection is established between a client and the director agent in order to receive a content request from the client from which to select a server from a set of servers that is responsible for hosting the requested content. A second network connection is established between the server agent that is associated with the selected server and a protocol stack of the selected server. The first network connection is handed-off to the server agent using the specialized hand-off protocol. The server agent performs network connection state parameter transformations between the two connections to create a network connection through which content can be passed from the selected server to the client without passing through the director.

    摘要: A method of alternative routing of a service request in connection with a pool 1 of integrated core network nodes. Before a serving radio access node routes a service request to the core network node serving a mobile station it checks if there are any idle terrestrial transmission resources available between the serving radio access node and the serving core network node. If idle resources are available, the service request is routed to the serving core network node. If no idle resources are available, the service request is rerouted to a selected one of the other core network nodes the pool that has idle resources available. The selected core network node receives the service request, recognizes it contains no temporary identification (TMSI) number associated with it and therefore sends an identity request to the mobile station. The identity request triggers the mobile station initiate an update location registration at the selected core network node or at any of the other core network nodes in the pool. The selected core network node or said other network node now acts as serving core network node for the mobile station. Next time the mobile station makes a service request the radio access node routes it to said selected or said other network node to which it hopefully are idle terrestrial transmission resources available.

    摘要: A method, medium, and system for reserving resources in a mobile network. A mobile node reports a start of a handover to a present access router if the handover of the mobile node occurs, and the previous access router transmits specified session information to a candidate access router that has a possibility handling the mobile node's handover. A candidate crossover router, which performs a resource reservation work on a new path and a resource release on the previous path, is searched, and a localized resource reservation is established by exchanging a specified resource reservation message before the handover is completed if the candidate crossover router is determined. Accordingly, duplication of resources can be prevented, and a prompt resource reservation can be achieved during the handover.
