Abstract:
A method and a system of providing cellular/wireless network dual mode communication services are provided. The wireless network interface normally stays in the standby mode, and the cellular interface is closed. When receiving calls, the cellular system receives the calls and wakes up the wireless network system to communicate to the calls. Hence, the power consumption of the dual mode phone is minimized.
Abstract:
An improved method is disclosed for placing continuous media data in a memory storage disk that will increase the disk operating efficiency and increase the number of users in a service round. The memory storage disk contains a plurality of tracks each track having at least one sector and the disk is divided into a plurality of physical zones of different sector/track density, and the method comprising the steps of: (a) dividing the disk into a plurality of logical zones of equal number of tracks, each logical zone being allowed to include tracks of different sector/track density; (b) for each logical zone, setting the tracks contained therein to have the same number of sector/density as the track with the smallest sector/track density; (c) assigning a constant disk access time for each logical zone; and (d) determining a read block size for each logical zone in such a manner that: (i) the read block size decreases from outer logical zones to inner logical zones; (ii) assigning a first portion of the logical zones with read block sizes that are greater than a minimum read block size required for continuous media playing so as to read extra data, which will be stored in a buffer; (iii) assigning a second portion of the logical zones with read block sizes that are smaller than the minimum read block size to thereby cause an inadequacy; and (iv) the block sizes are structured such that the inadequacy from the second portion of logical zones will be compensated by the extra data stored in the buffer, so as to ensure a continuous media play requirement.
Abstract:
A power monitoring device for identifying the state of an electric appliance based on user feedbacks and a power monitoring method thereof are provided. The power monitoring device includes a measurement module, a variation detection and search module, and an electric appliance signature database established based on user feedbacks. When the measurement module detects a variation of a power consumption feature, the variation detection and search module searches the electric appliance signature database according to the variation to obtain electric appliances similar to the variation and the states thereof. A user contributes data to the electric appliance signature database by confirming the search result, or selecting the correct electric appliance and the state thereof. When the user confirms the search result, the power monitoring device establishes an association between the electric appliance and its electric appliance signatures and updates the electric appliance signature database.
Abstract:
A method for controlling a first interface and a second interface installed on a mobile node is provided, wherein the mobile node communicates with a first access network (AN) through the first interface and communicates with a second AN through the second interface. The method comprises following steps. A first IP address is acquired through the first interface and the first AN for accessing a service network (SN). A second IP address is acquired through the second interface and the second AN for accessing the SN. The first interface is then selected as an awake interface. The second bridging node is directed to create and cache binding information indicating a binding of the second IP address to the first IP address. The second interface is turned off after the binding information is successfully created and cached on the second bridging node.
Abstract:
A system and method for reducing call establishment delay in wireless network is provided, in which a network node establishes a call to a wireless terminal controlled by an AP via a server. The wireless terminal notifies the server of its listen interval. In the power saving mode, the wireless terminal wakes up every listen interval and listen the beacon to check whether any buffered packet for it. When the wireless terminal learns from the beacon that there are packets waiting, it communicates with the access point to retrieve them. The server records a listen time at which the wireless terminal will wake up and listen to the AP based on the listen interval. When a network node calls the wireless terminal, the server buffers the request for a time interval based on the listen time, and then sends the request to the wireless terminal.
Abstract:
A packet delivery method for packet radio networks. The method used to deliver packets between a first mobile station and a second mobile station in a packet radio network is characterized by, when the first mobile station has a plurality of data packets to the second mobile station, establishing a delivery path from the first mobile station (MS) to the second mobile station (MS) through a first base station system (BSS), a first Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN), a second Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) and a second base station system (BSS); and when the second mobile station has a plurality of data packets to the first mobile station, the delivery path is established from the second mobile station (MS) to the first mobile station (MS) through the second base station system (BSS), the second Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN), the first Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) and the first base station system (BSS).
Abstract:
A packet transmitting method of wireless network is provided. The packet transmitting method determines whether the packet to be transmitted is a real-time packet or not, and, when the packet is a real-time packet, a re-transmission mechanism of the packet is determined to be ON or OFF according to the transmission status of the wireless network itself.
Abstract:
This invention discloses a data inquiry system for three-dimensional location-based image, video, and information, which comprises a client device and a remote server. The client device provides space parameters and lens parameters to the remote server through a transmission module. The remote server determines a space inquiry range by the space parameter and lens parameter, inquires an object data of an object space position parameter at the space inquiry range, shows the object data in an image data displayed by the client device to facilitate users to identify the desired viewing object, and further inquires the object data and related image and/or video data.
Abstract:
A system and method of appropriate services detection for a smart building are disclosed in the present invention. The invention may select appropriate services for a house or a building. After a user lives in a smart building with the system of the present invention for a period of time, the system uses the service gateway to collect and analyze environment information and appliance information so as to find relationship within appliances, sensors and actuators. Thus the cloud service platform selects appropriate services for the building to avoid downloading or installing an inappropriate service by a user. Further the cloud service platform may suggest a user buying additional equipment for matching the requirement of a service. The system of the present invention may learn a relationship of devices; locate positions of devices; and automatically collect state data of appliances to identify the appliances.
