摘要: A device for determining the measurement zone of an object which permits the adjustable setting of a plurality of measurement zones bounded by user-defined division points comprises a distance measurement apparatus for measuring a distance to an object, a specific division point setting circuit, such as a digital switch, for adjustably setting a specific distance point within the effective measurement range of the distance measurement apparatus, a circuit for adjustably setting one or more predetermined division points on at least one of the near side and the far side of the specific distance point, such that the specific distance point and the at least one predetermined division point define a plurality of measurement zones within the effective measurement range of the distance measurement apparatus, and a judgment circuit for judging which of the plurality of measurement zones a distance measurement result of the distance measurement apparatus belongs to. A measurement zone having a fixed width can be set by the setting circuit and the distance setting of division points can be performed by merely placing an object at an easily measurable point and pressing a switch. The division points can be set with very few manual operations. Also, a timer may be included to permit setting of the division point on the far side even when only one operator is present.

摘要: An article orienting method and apparatus to effectively orient articles fed in random fashion into substantially uniformly oriented condition. The apparatus includes a vertical passage, into which the articles are put in desired order. Upwardly directed fluid flow is generated in the vertical passage, which fluid flow acts on the article within the passage to maintain the article in the floating condition with capability of free rotation. By the effect of the fluid flow, the articles put in random attitude adjusted and oriented in a uniform direction. After completion of orientation, the fluid flow is terminated for removing the oriented articles in oriented condition.

摘要: An electric heating appliance such as an electric blanket or the like which is so designed as to prevent damage, for example, extraordinary temperature rising resulting from the deterioration of components when the appliance is erroneously dry-cleaned. In accomplishing this object, the electric heating appliance is provided with a safety means which is dissoluble in a dry-cleaning solution to prevent the circulation of electricity to a heater (6). This safety means is constructed in the manner, for example, that a thin portion (10a) of a cord socket case shell (2) made of plastics dissoluble in a dry-cleaning solution is dissolved when dry-cleaned, and accordingly, a spring plate (3) is dashed out to prevent a plug (9) at the side of a controller (11) from being inserted into cord socket case (1) and (2), thereby obstructing the circulation of electricity to the heater (6).

摘要: A camera powered by a battery has a first memory area for storing first data used in operating the camera and for retaining the first data irrespective of a power source interruption in the camera, and a second memory area powered by the battery for storing second data which is dependent upon the first data. A power interruption in the camera, such as occurs when the battery is exhausted or replaced, is detected by comparing the first data stored in the first memory area with the second data stored in the second memory area. After detection of a power interruption, the camera is initialized and the first data stored in the first memory area is then copied into the second memory area. Since the first memory area and the second memory area are compared each time the camera is activated, the state of the battery can be reliably checked.

摘要: A data processing device for a camera wherein a parity bit is provided in data of an EEPROM, and when a parity error is caused by destruction of data or the like, data previously prepared in a ROM is employed, or when data before and after a specific abnormal data are normal, an interpolation calculation is performed by using these normal data. When data memorized in the EEPROM are destructed by an unexpected accident such as by static electricity, the data are prevented from using and picture taking can be continued without applying a serious influence on the picture-taking operation by performing an approximation calculation by using the other normal data memorized in the ROM.
