The image processing has a first color control means which carries out a color control of only the image signals of a plurality of the reflecting light images based on an image signal obtained by using a standard object as an object, and a second color control means which carries out a color control of an image signal of said plurality of reflecting light images adjusted by the first color control means and an image signal of the fluorescence image obtained by using a living tissue as an object on the basis of the image signal obtained by said image processing apparatus using the living tissue as an object.

    摘要: A confocal optical system includes a pinhole aperture for creating a point light source from light that is transmitted through an optical fiber, an optical scanning system for scanning the light that emerges from the pinhole aperture, and an optical focusing system. The optical focusing system focuses light from the pinhole aperture via the optical scanning system onto or within an object such that the pinhole aperture and the focused light region at the object are at conjugate positions of the confocal optical system. Thus, light reflected by the object is returned to the optical fiber via the pinhole aperture. At least one of the optical scanning system and the optical focusing system includes a reflective surface region and a region that has a different reflectivity than the reflective surface region. The region that has a different reflectivity may be an aperture, a region of lower reflectance factor, or even a region that reflects light well, but in a direction which prevents light which does not illuminate the object via the optical scanning system from being returned to the optical fiber core region. Thus, the purpose of the region having a different reflectivity is to reduce optical noise that is returned to the optical fiber.

    摘要: A capsule for determining the blood content of living tissue in vivo in a patient to detect tumors. The capsule includes a light source and a light detector for directing light onto the tissue and for receiving interacted light therefrom. By analyzing the interacted light, a determination can be made of the blood content of that tissue. There are various ways of positioning the capsule so that it contacts the tissue in the desired orientation of the light source and light detector. There is also a system for determining the actual contact between the capsule and the tissue. A calibration system is also used that allows a self calibration that can be carried out easily and accurately just prior to the use of the capsule.

When the window is at a distance from tissue and in absence of foreign matter on the window, all or most of the emitted light will be dispersed and little or no light will be reflected back into the sensor. Conversely, when the window is at a distance from tissue and foreign matter is present on the window, a substantial portion of the emitted light will be reflected back into the sensor indicating the presence of the foreign matter.
