There is provided a cable broadcast receiver for solving problems arising in the switching between execution of a download application and reproduction of video audio information from an external device. The receiver has operating modes including a first mode and a second mode. Under the first mode, the receiver is operated based on a download application acquired through a network. Under the second mode, the receiver is operated based on a receiver application. The receiver is operated under the second mode when information inputted from an external device is to be displayed. A key delivery unit delivers, upon receiving a key code instructing a channel change during the operation under the second mode, the key code indicating the channel change to a download application management unit which controls the key delivery to the download application, and a receiver application management unit which controls the key delivery to the receiver application.
Abstract:
A method and system for analyzing time series data. In an embodiment, a loop is executed and terminated upon a specified maximum number of iterations of the loop being performed or upon a difference between scores in successive iterations of the loop not being greater than a specified tolerance, wherein the score in each iteration is calculated as function of an absolute value of a difference between respective cumulative probability values of first and second cumulative probability distributions which are generated from respectively first and second time series data sets. In an embodiment, time series data is processed in a sequence of time periods, wherein a combined cumulative probability distribution is generated in each time period by combining a cumulative probability distribution of new time series data with previously combined cumulative probability distribution data according to a ratio of the number of new to previous observed values.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system for evaluating a correlation between a plurality of time-series data. The system includes a calculating section which calculates characteristic quantities indicating symmetry of a diagram drawn by a graph, on which data values included in the plurality of time-series data are plotted in a multidimensional space in which each coordinate axis represents the data value of each time-series data; and an evaluating section which evaluates the correlation between the plurality of time-series data, based on the calculated characteristic quantities.

An information processing apparatus, a calculation method, a program, and a storage medium for generating a uniformly distributed discrete pattern. To calculate a spatial arrangement of a plurality of elements of a discrete pattern, the plurality of elements being arranged in a spatially discrete manner, an information processing apparatus according to the present invention determines, for each of the elements, a density in an initial position given to the element from a density distribution of the elements in a region where the elements are arranged in the discrete pattern and places, for the initial position of each of the elements, a figure having a size corresponding to the density and representing a region where the element repels other elements and a movement range of the figure. The information processing apparatus minimizes an objective function, computes an optimal solution, and outputs the optimal solutions.

A web browser control device includes: a display control unit that causes web pages and a bookmark list screen showing a list of at least one bookmarked web page among the web pages to be displayed; a storage unit that stores (a) pieces of history information of the web pages displayed by the display control unit and (b) bookmark information of the at least one bookmarked web page; and a web browser control unit that (i) instructs, when a web browser is opened, the display control unit to cause the bookmark list screen to be displayed according to the bookmark information stored in the storage unit, and (ii) delete, when the web browser is closed or opened, (c) history information of at least one web page not bookmarked among the web pages from the storage unit.

A system such as a Web-based system in which a plurality of computers interact with each other is monitored to detect online an anomaly. Transactions of a service provided by each of a plurality of computers to another computer are collected, a matrix of correlations between nodes in the system is calculated from the transactions, and a feature vector representing anode activity balance is obtained from the matrix. The feature vector is monitored using a probability model to detect a transition to an anomalous state.
