摘要： A liquid crystal display device with a vertical alignment mode in which a high image quality and a wide viewing angle are secured includes a liquid crystal layer having an initial state of vertical alignment interposed between a pair of substrates opposite to each other. A plurality of alignment control structures including a dielectric protrusion protruded toward the liquid crystal layer from the inner surface of the substrate is provided in a dot area constituting one unit of display. When that the dielectric constant of the dielectric protrusion is εt1, the dielectric constant of a major axis direction of liquid crystal molecules constituting the liquid crystal layer is ε//, and the dielectric constant of a minor axis direction thereof is ε⊥, the dielectric constants satisfy the expression ε⊥>ε//>εt1.

摘要： A noise reduction device of the present invention comprises a control filter unit for generating a control sound signal to cancel out a noise, a control speaker for outputting a control sound according to the control sound signal from the control filter unit, an error microphone for detecting a residual sound by superimposing the noise upon the control sound output from the control speaker, and an obstacle detector for detecting an obstacle around the error microphone, wherein the control filter unit generates the control sound signal according to data from the error microphone and the obstacle detector.

摘要： To simplify a manufacturing process of a transverse electric field mode liquid crystal display device by using a non-linear resistance element such as a TFD (Thin Film Diode) as a switching element. In a liquid crystal display device having a pair of substrates with liquid crystal interposed therebetween, one of the substrates consists of an electrode substrate. On the electrode substrate, there are provided a first group of electrodes, a second group of electrodes crossing the first group of electrodes with an insulating layer interposed therebetween, non-linear resistance elements, one end of each of the non-linear resistance elements being connected to the respective one of the second group of electrodes, and pixel electrodes opposing the first group of electrodes, each pixel electrode being connected to the other end of each of the non-linear resistance elements. Since the non-linear resistance elements have a so-called TFD (MIM) structure made of metal-insulating layer-metal, the manufacturing process is simple. Therefore, it is possible to manufacture the transverse electric field mode display device at low cost.

摘要： A display device 100 has a display unit 110 and a display switching unit 120. The display switching unit 120 is provided with a reflective polarizing plate 121, a liquid crystal panel 122, and a polarizing plate 123 arranged in this order from the side of the display unit 110 to the observation side. By controlling the liquid crystal panel 122, the display switching unit can be switched between a light transmissive state and a light reflective state. The display unit 110 and the display switching unit 120 are optically adhered to each other by an adhesive layer 131. Thus, deterioration of the contrast by boundary reflection can be restrained, and the flatness and the rigidity of the device can be improved.
