    摘要: Even in the case of a bar-like small terminal connection, its strength is retained. In (a), a strip (21) made, for example, of a thin metal sheet having a thickness of 0.2 mm and a predetermined width is collapsed by rolling to a thickness of 0.16 mm as in (b). Subsequently, as in (c), the longitudinal opposite sides (22, 23) of the strip (21) are erected with respect to the base plate (24), then inwardly bent, as in (d), and folded onto the base (24), as in (e). Further, the folded opposite sides (22, 23) are erected together with the base plate (24) into a closely contacted state, whereupon as in (f), the folded body is mechanically compressed from all sides into a form having a 0.64-mm square cross section.

    摘要: An electric connector including a housing made of resin and having a plurality of cavities for receiving a plurality of terminals and a terminal retaining member made of resin and having a plurality of holes. When a rear portion of the housing is inserted into an opening formed in a front portion of the terminal retaining member, the housing and terminal retaining member are preliminarily coupled with each other in a first coupling mode in which the holes of the terminal retaining member are aligned with the cavities of the housing. After the terminals having electric wires connected thereto have been inserted into the cavities through the holes, the terminal retaining member is shifted in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the terminals are inserted and then is further moved toward the housing to attain a second coupling mode. In the second coupling mode the terminals are engaged with portions of the terminal retaining member to prevent the terminals from being removed out of the housing.

    摘要: A connecting terminal has a rectangular tube-like connecting portion including a bottom plate 13, a first side plate 14, a top plate not shown and a second side plate not shown, a movable contact strip 20 is secured to the bottom plate 13 at a base portion 20a, said movable contact strip 13 being further bent into a shape of mountain such that an apex of the mountain constitutes a contact portion 20d. Prior to the formation of the connecting portion, the movable contact strip 13 is folded over the bottom plate 13. An elongated strip portion of the bottom plate 13 is cut and bent inwardly to form a reinforcing strip not shown. A rear end of the movable contact strip is connected to the bottom plate 13 and a free front end of the reinforcing strip is urged against a lower surface of the contact portion 20d of the movable contact strip 20. At a front end of the connecting portion 11, a guide strip 22 is formed by folding back a front end portion of the bottom plate 13 such that the guide strip 22 covers the free front end 20c of the movable contact strip 20 to prevent an upward movement of the free front end 20c and to guide a corresponding male type connecting terminal.

    摘要: Upon releasing a locking arm from a connecting terminal by inserting a jig through a front holder, the jig could not be erroneously inserted into a terminal inserting hole. Connecting terminals 15 are inserted into a housing 11, and the connecting terminals are prevented from being pulled out of the housing backwardly by means of locking arms 13 arranged above the respective connecting terminals 15. The front holder is engaged with the housing by a clamping mechanism in an axial direction and is movable laterally in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction. A pair of a terminal inserting hole 17 and an arm operating hole 18 provided for respective connecting terminals are shifted laterally. In a first position of the front holder 16, the terminal inserting hole 17 is aligned with an axial line of a female-type connecting terminal 15, but the arm operating hole 18 is shifted laterally from the locking arm.

    摘要: In a connector terminal into which a cooperating male contact terminal can be smoothly inserted and a movable contact strip can be prevented from being buckled while a desired contact pressure can be attained, a connecting portion 11 is formed into a substantially box shape by folding a bottom plate 13, side plates 14, 15 (14 is not shown) continuously extending from respective sides of the bottom plate and a top plate 16 continuously extending from one of the side plates. A movable contact strip 17 is formed by folding back the top plate 16 around a gently curved portion 17a into a resilient spring having an inverted triangular shape including a contact portion 17b near an inwardly bent middle portion of the movable contact strip 17. A hole 17c is formed at an end portion of the movable contact strip 17 into which an engagement tip 16b formed by folding a part of the top plate 16 inwardly is inserted.

    摘要: A rear holder 4 is inserted into a housing 3 from a rear end surface 24 at a provisional locking position in which the rear holder 4 is inserted into the housing 3 halfway and an insertion of connecting terminals is allowed, as well as at a sufficiently inserted complete locking position at which the inserted connecting terminals are locked. Within the housing 3, there are formed two rows of terminal accommodating holes 28 each accommodating respective connecting terminals. The rear holder 4 is formed in a substantially plate-like shape and includes a main body 41 which is inserted into slits 29 of the housing 3 and locking arms 45 which are inserted into respective terminal accommodating holes 28. A width of a locking arm 45 is slightly smaller than that of a terminal accommodating hole 28. Windows 37 are formed in the outer wall 21 of the housing 3 such that the terminal accommodating holes 28 are communicated with external through the windows 37. Through these windows 37, locking condition between the connecting terminals 2 and the locking arms 45 can be released and an electrical conduction test of the connecting terminals 2 can be performed.
