Abstract:
A supplemental speaker and microphone system for use with a cellular phone has a plug to connect to an audio socket of the cellular phone. A base of the system carries a speaker, a primary microphone and a primary transceiver. A pair of remote microphone pucks is removably disposed on the base, and each has a secondary microphone, a secondary transceiver, and a battery. The system converts the cellular phone into a conference phone without the need of wirelessly connecting the cellular phone to the system.
Abstract:
A keyboard is configured to protect the display, or screen, and optionally the housing of a mobile computing device, such as a tablet computer, while the mobile computing device is not in use. When positioned over the display of a mobile computing device, the keyboard may provide protection without substantially increasing the thickness or other dimensions of the mobile computing device. The keyboard may also include a slot for orienting the tablet computer or other mobile computing device in a working orientation. Systems including assemblies of a keyboard and a mobile computing device, such as a tablet computer, are also disclosed, as are methods for using keyboards with tablet computers and other mobile computing devices.
Abstract:
A system and method for aligning a screen protector to a cell phone comprises a screen protector with an alignment liner disposed over the screen protector; alignment indicia disposed on the alignment liner; and a display source configured to enable display of alignment indicia on the display screen of the cell phone. The alignment indicia of the display screen correspond to the alignment indicia of the alignment liner so that the alignment indicia of the alignment liner is capable of being aligned over the alignment indicia on the display screen to properly align the screen protector with the display screen when the screen protector is positioned above the display screen.
Abstract:
A protective cover is provided to protect a portable electronic device, including a display surface that includes a display screen. The protective cover may include a computing accessory such as a keyboard. One or more magnets in the protective cover may be configured to align with magnets located in the portable electronic device. Upon placing the protective cover over the display surface, an attraction force between magnets can secure the protective cover, including the computing accessory, over the display surface. The magnets may be located proximate edges of the protective cover a portable electronic device, and the attraction force may be the primary or only mechanism for securing the protective cover in place. Optionally, the attractive forces pass through the display surface without also passing through a side or peripheral surface of the portable electronic device.
Abstract:
A system for protecting a surface of an electronic device includes a protective film and a liner. The protective film includes an adhesive-coated surface. The liner, which covers the adhesive-coated surface until the protective film is secured to the surface of an electronic device, covers a periphery of the adhesive-coated surface. The liner may also include one or more tabs for facilitating removal of the liner from the adhesive-coated surface of the protective film. Methods for using the system to apply a protective film to a surface, such as a surface of a display screen, of an electronic device are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A system for protecting a surface of a substrate includes a protective film, which is configured to be applied and secured to the surface, as well as a backing on an adherent surface of the protective film and an application tape over an exterior surface of the protective film. Protruding features, such as tabs, adjacent to different peripheral edges of the protective film may enable removal of the backing and the application tape from the protective film, and may include features that indicate the order in which each protruding feature is to be grasped to peel its corresponding element away from the protective film.
