Abstract:
Embodiments include methods, systems, and apparatuses for automatic broadband information correlation and record generation. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving performance information related to a broadband connection of customer premises equipment (CPE), and receiving information related to a local network connected to the CPE. The method includes processing the local network information to generate location information associated with the CPE. The method further includes generating a record including the performance information and the location information associated with the CPE.
Abstract:
A Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Management Center (DMC) coupled to a DSL network includes a data collection module that receives information regarding the DSL network from a plurality of sources. An analysis module is coupled to the data collection module to analyze the received information and issue a command for one or more of a plurality of DSL performance enhancement devices to optimize their operation. A command signal generation module is coupled to the analysis module to receive the issued command from the analysis module and generate a corresponding command signal for transmission to one or more of the DSL performance enhancement devices.
Abstract:
Time division duplex transmission over copper physical channels is managed. In one example, upstream time slots for upstream transmission in a first physical channel are scheduled. Downstream time slots for downstream transmission in a second physical channel are scheduled. Transmission in the upstream time slots is substantially not simultaneous with transmission in the downstream time slots.
Abstract:
In accordance with embodiments disclosed herein, there are provided methods, systems, mechanisms, techniques, and apparatuses for managing mixed deployments of vectored and non-vectored VDSL. For example, in one embodiment, there are included means for establishing an operational interface to a communications system, in which the communications system includes a plurality of copper telephone lines organized into at feast a vectored group having a first subset of the plurality of copper telephone lines and a second group having a remaining one or more of the copper telephone Hoes which are not part of the vectored group; means for estimating one or more achievable performance targets such as achievable bit rates for each of the vectored group and the second group; means for selecting an operating point for each of the vectored group and the second group based on the estimated achievable performance targets; means for assigning configurable values to approximate the operating point selected for each of the vectored group and the second group; and means for configuring the communications system via the operational interface to adopt the assigned configurable values. Other related embodiments are further disclosed.

Abstract:
In accordance with embodiments disclosed herein, there are provided apparatuses, systems and methods for implementing wireless system discovery and control using a state-space. For example, such means may include: establishing, a communications interface between an access point optimizer and a wireless access point; identifying one or more interfering wireless nodes exhibiting electromagnetic interference upon the wireless access point; collecting data from the wireless access point; determining a model of the wireless access point and the one or more interfering wireless nodes by: (i) modeling communicative relationships and properties among the wireless access points and the one or more interfering wireless nodes exhibiting electromagnetic interference upon the wireless access point based at least in part on the data collected, and (ii) modeling an active state of the wireless access points representing a current configuration of the wireless access points having therein one or more configurable parameters for the wireless access points based at least in part on the data collected; and quantifying a change in performance of the wireless access points or the one or more interfering wireless nodes based on a state change affecting the model. Other related embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract:
Described is a method performed by a downloadable agent, the method comprising: collecting WAN performance information, wherein the downloadable agent is executable on a computing device coupled to a LAN of a broadband subscriber, wherein the LAN is coupled by another device to a WAN; and transmitting the WAN performance information to a machine; wherein the machine is operable to: store and analyze the performance information to generate an analysis result; and report the analysis result to at least one of the broadband subscriber and its service provider. Described is a corresponding system which comprises a database; and a server coupled to the database, the server operable to: receive WAN performance information from a downloadable agent; store the information in the database, analyze the information to generate an analysis result; and report the analysis result to at least one of the broadband subscriber and the broadband subscriber's service provider.
Abstract:
In accordance with embodiments disclosed herein, there are provided apparatus, systems and methods for implementing distributed wireless data sharing and control systems. Methodologies may include, for example, means for performing operations at a first wireless node having at least a processor and a memory therein, in which such operations include collecting measurements of a wireless environment at the first wireless node; determining a current configuration of the first wireless node; receiving state information from a second wireless node, in which the received state information describes a configuration of the second wireless node and further describes collected measurements of a wireless environment at the second wireless node; with the operations further including analyzing the collected measurements of the wireless environment at the first wireless node and also analyzing the state information received from the second wireless node, the analysis being used to determine one or more modifications to the current configuration of the first wireless node; adopting a modified configuration at the first wireless node by updating the current configuration of the first wireless node with the determined one or more modifications; and communicating first node state information to the second wireless node, in which the first node state information describes the modified configuration adopted by the first wireless node and the collected measurements of the wireless environment at the first wireless node. Other related embodiments are disclosed.
