Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for implementing block acknowledgment (BA) operations for multi-link wireless communication networks. For example some embodiments relate to an electronic device including a transceiver and one or more processors communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The one or more processors transmit, using the transceiver and to a second electronic device, a first set of one or more frames on a first link and a second set of one or more frames on a second link. The one or more processors receive, using the transceiver and from the second electronic device, a first block acknowledgment (BA) frame on the first link and a second BA frame on the second link. The one or more processors further determine, based on received first BA frame and the second BA frame, a failed or missing frame of the first set of one or more frames transmitted on the first link.

Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for implementing request to send (RTS) and clear to transmit (CTS) frames and transmission rules for the RTS and CTS frame. For example, some aspects relate to an electronic device including a transceiver and one or more processors communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The one or more processors receive, using the transceiver, a request to send (RTS) frame from the second electronic device and determine, using the received RTS frame, a format for a clear to send (CTS) frame to use in response to the RTS frame. The one or more processors further transmit, using the transceiver, the CTS frame based on the determined format on at least one sub-channel on which the RTS frame was received and that the at least one sub-channel is idle.

Abstract: A multilink access point may communicate with a legacy device. The multilink access point identifies an attempt, by at least one legacy station, to connect to the access point, determines that the at least one legacy station does not support multilink communications, broadcasts a beacon identifying information for a basic communication link that can be used by the at least one legacy station and associates with the at least one legacy station based at least on information included in the beacon, wherein the at least one legacy station communicates exclusively on the basic communication link with the access point.

The operations described herein provide for reducing the number of codewords that need to be retransmitted, minimizing the overhead needed to signal the feedback from a receiver to a transmitter, and allowing a transmitter to control which codewords are retransmitted.

Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for a PHY level operation that enables a transmitter and a receiver to select low-density parity check (LDPC) codewords that are HARQ retransmitted. The operations described herein provide for an increased reliability in detecting codewords at the physical (PHY) layer, as the codeword detection does not depend on detection of a media access control (MAC) protocol data unit (MPDU) start position and length. For example, the PHY layer may store failed codewords without instructions from the MAC layer. This providers for faster and simpler implementation of the PHY layer. Additionally, the operations described herein reduce overhead requirements as the MAC layer may stores a bit stream of correctly received codewords, which requires less the storage space required to store failed codewords. Furthermore, a feedback signal transmitted from a receiving device to a transmitting device may further reduce the number of retransmitted codewords.

Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure include an apparatus, method, and computer program product for wireless local area network (WLAN) link adaptation for multi-user transmission. For example, a receiving device can receive a multi-user-physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (MU-PPDU) including a preamble and a plurality of data portions. The preamble can include a PHY multi-user-block acknowledgement request (MU-BAR) frame indicating a frequency band for transmitting a trigger-based (TB)-PPDU. The receiving device can decode at least a portion of a first data portion of the and transmit the TB-PPDU including feedback (FB) data corresponding to the first data portion in the frequency band. Even if the decoding of the first data portion fails, the receiving device can use information in the PHY MU-BAR frame to transmit a TB-PPDU to the transmitting device that includes a negative acknowledgment (NACK) frame and a FB sequence number of the MU-PPDU.

Abstract: Some embodiments include an apparatus, method, and computer program product for infrastructure and peer-to-peer (P2P) medium access sharing. Some embodiments enable an access point (AP) to assist associated stations (STAs) in accessing a channel. Abstract: Some embodiments include utilizing a multilink media access control (MAC) address structure to support multilink devices (MLDs) that can operate concurrently in more than one link such as extremely high throughput (EHT) access points (APs) and EHT stations (STA), where the multilink MAC address structure is compatible with legacy devices. An EHT AP can utilize a multilink basic service set (BSS) identification (BSSID) MAC address to communicate with an EHT STA identified by a multilink MAC address. Values of the multilink BSSID and the multilink MAC address of the EHT STA are independent of which of the multiple links are used in the communication. In addition, to utilizing a multilink BSSID, the EHT AP can also support unique link-specific MAC addresses to concurrently support legacy and MLD stations. The EHT STA can also utilize unique link-specific MAC addresses that can be different than the EHT AP's link-specific MAC addresses.
