Abstract: A method and device are disclosed from the perspective of a User Equipment-to-User Equipment (UE-to-UE) Relay to perform a link identifier update procedure. In one embodiment, the method includes the UE-to-UE Relay receiving a first PC5-S message from a first UE to modify at least one first link identifier, wherein the first PC5-S message includes a Layer-2 Identity (ID) of the first UE. The method also includes the UE-to-UE Relay transmitting a second PC5-S message to a second UE, in response to reception of the first PC5-S message, to modify at least one second link identifier, wherein the second PC5-S message includes a Layer-2 ID of the UE-to-UE Relay and does not include the Layer-2 ID of the first UE.

The method also includes the UE transmitting the SR based on a first SR configuration of the multiple SR configurations, wherein the first SR configuration is associated with a highest priority logical channel having data available for transmission when the MAC control element is triggered.

In one embodiment, the method includes the first UE transmitting a first PC5 RRC (Radio Resource Control) message to a second UE, wherein the first PC5 RRC message includes an AS (Access Stratum)-layer configuration for a unicast link established with the second UE. The method also includes the first UE transmitting a fourth RRC message to a network node if a configuration failure of the AS-layer configuration is detected, wherein the fourth RRC message indicates the configuration failure occurs.

Abstract: A method and device are disclosed from the perspective of a first UE (User Equipment) for changing sidelink identity for a sidelink unicast link associated with a second UE. In one method, the method includes the first UE establishing the sidelink unicast link with the second UE, wherein a first lower-layer identity of the first UE and a second lower-layer identity of the second UE are used for communicating between the first UE and the second UE via the sidelink unicast link. The method also includes the first UE transmitting a Link Identifier Update Request message to the second UE, wherein the Link Identifier Update Request message includes a new first lower-layer identity of the first UE or information for deriving the new first lower-layer identity. The method further includes the first UE receiving a Link Identifier Update Response message from the second UE. In addition, the method includes the first UE continuing to use the first lower-layer identity for receiving sidelink data from the second UE until a sidelink data frame with the new first lower-layer identity is received from the second UE.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for improving initialization of sidelink duplication reception in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, a User Equipment (UE) receives a first Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) on a logical channel associated with a sidelink radio bearer (SLRB). The UE initializes a first state variable based on a partial Reordering_Window and a PDCP Sequence Number (SN) of the first received PDCP PDU, wherein the first state variable indicates the PDCP SN of a last PDCP Service Data Unit (SDU) delivered to the upper layers by a PDCP entity created for the SLRB, and the partial Reordering_Window is less than a Reordering_Window. The UE performs a re-ordering procedure for the first PDCP PDU using the initialized first state variable.

Abstract: A method for a wireless communications system is disclosed. In one example, a user equipment (UE) device (e.g. a mobile phone) provides a UE beam sweeping number to a network node. Based on the UE beam sweeping number, the network node provides configuration information or allocates a resource to the UE device. The UE device can use the configuration information or the resource for measurement. The beam sweeping number refers to the number of time intervals that the UE device would need to generate multiple sets of UE beams, one set per time interval, that would cover all possible directions in which the UE device sends and/or receives transmissions, in a manner that resembles a sweeping of UE beams.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses of handling a bandwidth part (BWP) inactivity timer during a Random Access procedure in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, a user equipment (UE) starts a BWP timer for a serving cell operating in a paired spectrum. The UE initiates a contention-based Random Access (RA) procedure on the serving cell and stops the BWP timer. The UE starts the BWP timer upon successful completion of the RA procedure, wherein the UE considers the contention-based RA procedure successfully completed if a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) addressed to a Cell Network Temporary Identifier (C-RNTI) of the UE is received and the PDCCH contains an uplink grant for a new transmission.
