Abstract: A method and device are disclosed from the perspective of a first device handling radio link failure. In one method, the method includes the first device performing or establishing sidelink unicast communication with a second device. The method also includes the first device performing or establishing sidelink unicast communication with a third device. The method also includes the first device detecting a radio link failure associated with the second device. The method further includes the first device performing a Sidelink MAC reset associated with the second device in response to the radio link failure, and not performing a Sidelink MAC reset associated with the third device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a first UE (User Equipment) to perform sidelink logical channel (SL LCH) establishment. In one embodiment, the method includes the first UE storing a list of sidelink configurations, wherein each entry in the list contains one sidelink configuration and at least one PC5 QoS identifier (PQI) associated with the one sidelink configuration. The method further includes the first UE selecting an entry in the list according to a PQI of a PC5 QoS flow from a sidelink service. The method also includes the first UE establishing a SL LCH for the PC5 QoS flow according to a sidelink configuration of the entry and assigning an identity for the SL LCH. In addition, the method includes the first UE transmitting information to a second UE for the second UE to establish the SL LCH, wherein the information includes at least the identity of the SL LCH, an identity of the PC5 QoS flow, and Transmission-Reception (TX-RX) aligned parameters included in the sidelink configuration. Furthermore, the method includes the first UE transmitting sidelink packet(s) from the PC5 QoS flow on the SL LCH.

The method also includes the first UE transmitting a fourth RRC message to a network node if a configuration failure of the AS-layer configuration is detected, wherein the fourth RRC message indicates the configuration failure occurs.

The UE receives the system information for broadcast or multicast from the serving cell after transmitting the interest indication for broadcast or multicast.

Abstract: A method and device are disclosed from the perspective of a first UE (User Equipment) for changing sidelink identity for a sidelink unicast link associated with a second UE. In one method, the method includes the first UE establishing the sidelink unicast link with the second UE, wherein a first lower-layer identity of the first UE and a second lower-layer identity of the second UE are used for communicating between the first UE and the second UE via the sidelink unicast link. The method also includes the first UE transmitting a Link Identifier Update Request message to the second UE, wherein the Link Identifier Update Request message includes a new first lower-layer identity of the first UE or information for deriving the new first lower-layer identity. The method further includes the first UE receiving a Link Identifier Update Response message from the second UE. In addition, the method includes the first UE continuing to use the first lower-layer identity for receiving sidelink data from the second UE until a sidelink data frame with the new first lower-layer identity is received from the second UE.
