Abstract:
There are disclosed a color correcting relation extracting method capable of extracting a know-how of an image formation by a camera man, and a color correction method of reproducing the know-how. A color of a patch of a color chart is measured to obtain a colorimetry value, and the color chart is photographed by a television camera to obtain RGB data. A know-how for converting the colorimetry value into the RGB data is combined with a monitor characteristic conversion for converting the RGB data into the colorimetry value of a color of an image on a monitor, so that a know-how for a preferable image formation is obtained.
Abstract:
To create a color conversion definition defining an association between a color in an arbitrary gamut and a color in a color in a target gamut, there are provided a definition creating step of creating a first color conversion defining an association between a color in a reference gamut close to the arbitrary gamut and a color in the arbitrary, and a definition combination step of combining a second color conversion definition created beforehand defining an association between a color in the reference gamut and a color in the target gamut, with the first color conversion definition created in said definition creating step.
Abstract:
Layout data are classified into character data, line image data, and gradation image data by an interpreter, and the line image data and the gradation image data are converted into data depending on printing conditions and output conditions of an output apparatus by a color conversion processor. The gradation image data are converted into data to which an image structure produced upon printing is imparted, by a halftone dot simulation processor. These data are converted into image data for scanning recording by a raster image processor, and outputted as a color proof image from the output apparatus.
Abstract:
A color proof is generated as a hard copy approximating a printed color document by a color printer or as a displayed image approximating a printed color document by a color display monitor. A color shift produced by a filtering process which cuts off a spatial frequency response inherent in an image output device such as a color printer, a color display monitor, or the like while retaining a spatial frequency response inherent in a printing screen of a printed color document during an image structure simulation process is corrected by a color shift correcting LUT, and thereafter a color shift caused when a color digital printer is used is corrected by a color shift correcting LUT. A generated color proof accurately reproduces colors and image structure of the printed color document.
