    摘要: An aircraft fuel-gauging system has multiple gauging sensors in each tank divided into two groups. Each group of sensors connects with a respective processor. The processors are linked to provide a display in the cockpit to give an indication of fuel quantity derived from all the sensors. The two processors also provide separate, nominally-identical display indications of fuel quantity on a refuel panel on the exterior of the aircraft. The refueller can compare these two separate quantity indications with the flow meter in the fuel dispenser to confirm that the correct quantity has been dispensed.

    摘要: A novel indium phosphide (InP) based heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) is described. A II-VI compound, cadmium sulfide (CdS), is used as the emitter to improve the emitter injection efficiency and reduce recombination losses. The cadmium sulfide emitter is applied following the epitaxial growth of III-V compound collector and base regions. The large valence band discontinuity (.quadrature.E=0.75 eV) between CdS and InP allows InP to be used for both the base and collector material. Prior to cadmium sulfide deposition, the exposed surfaces of the epitaxial layers can be passivated with sulfur, further reducing the recombination losses.

    摘要: An integrated cache architecture that has low power consumption, high noise immunity, and full support of an integrated validity/LRU cache write mode. The cache stores TAG, index and LRU information directly on a master word line, and cache line data on local word lines. The access information is made available early in the cycle, allowing the cache to disable local word lines that are not needed. By laying out the master and local word lines in a metal layer that substantially renders the stored data immune to overlaying noise sources, high frequency interconnections can be made over the cache without disturbing the stored data. The cache includes circuitry for efficiently updating the stored LRU information, such that a combined data validity/full LRU cache update protocol is supported.

The invention is disclosed in terms of a wafer of photo field effect transistors being combined with a wafer of circuit devices that attend the photo feed effect transistor devices. Use of the invention with the different material combination option desired for a photodetector device and its attending circuitry is also disclosed. Advantages over the more conventional chip by chip combination of wafer devices are also disclosed.

The drive assembly generates a torque about a drive axis to rotate the steering wheel assembly, wherein the drive axis of the drive assembly is coaxial to the steering wheel axis.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for accurately making a limbal relaxing incision. An example universal limbal relaxing guide (ULRIG) includes an inner rotating ring, a measurement gauge, a base unit and bumpers. The inner rotating ring and measurement gauge rotate concentrically relative to the base unit. The inner ring guides a keratome along an arc of constant radius. The measurement gauge enables the user to select the length of the arc and the bumpers prevent the keratome from overshooting the desired incision length. Because the thin degree ring rotates relative to the base unit, the example ULRIG can be used with more than one style of keratome. Multiple marks on a pointing bumper enable the user to adjust the resultant incision length for the cornea size of an individual patient.

    摘要: Described are an apparatus and method of forwarding Internet Protocol (IP) packets. At least one fixed-length key having a predetermined number of bits is produced in response to an IP address in an IP packet. At least a portion of the fixed-length key is hashed to obtain a hash value. The fixed-length key is compared with a key value stored in each data-item in a hash bucket associated with the hash value to find the data item that has the key value that matches the fixed-sized key and to obtain from that data item routing information that is used to forward the IP packet.
