摘要: A method for use in a wireless communications system in which there is at least a first mode which controls the traffic to and from user terminals in a cell within the system, so that there is downlink traffic in the system. The first node transmits downlink traffic in radio frames, each of which comprises sub-frames. The first node performs measurements on pre-defined system indicators in at least said first cell, and based on the results of said measurements, the first node is allowed to autonomously decide to vary the number of available down link sub-frames used for down link traffic in said down link radio frames and also to vary the content of the down link sub frames which are used, said decision being valid for a time which is specified by the first node.

摘要: A radio communication network (1) comprises at least a radio base station (10) serving an active cell (15) and a radio base station (20, 30, 40) having a passive cell (25, 35, 45) and does not transmit any cell-defining information for the passive cell (25, 35, 45). User equipment (100) receives random access enabling information applicable to the passive cell (25, 35, 45) from the radio base station (10) serving the active cell (15). The user equipment (100) uses this information for compiling and transmitting a random access to the radio base station (20, 30, 40) of the passive cell (25, 35, 45). Upon reception of the random access, the radio base station (20, 30, 40) activates its passive cell (25, 35, 45) and starts transmission of cell-defining information for the now activated cell (25, 35, 45) to assist user equipment (10) in finding the cell (25, 35, 45) for radio communication service.

摘要: A data communication scheduling system (300) of a radio base station (100) serving multiple cells (10-30) comprises multiple radio equipment, REs, (101-103) and antenna interfaces (115, 125, 135) connectable to antennas (110, 120, 130). In order to reduce the power consumption, only a subset of the RE (101) is active, while the other REs (102, 103) are turned off. A transmitter controller (155) is arranged for controlling the active RE (101) to be shared among multiple cells (10-30) during a radio frame (40) so that each cell (10-30) is guaranteed at least one sub frame (50-58) for downlink transmission. A receiver antenna system multiplexer(140) selectively interconnects the active RE (101) with the antenna interfaces (115, 125, 135) according to the operation of a receiver controller (145). Consequently, the RE (101) becomes connected to different antenna interfaces (115, 125, 135) during different sub frames (50-58) to thereby allow each cell (10-30) at least one assigned uplink sub frame (53-55) in the radio frame (40) at a predefined sub frame distance after the at least one downlink sub frame (50-52) assigned to the same cell (10-30).

摘要: A method and base station for forming an OFDM signal from a baseband signal includes a partitioning unit configured to partition a block of baseband signal samples into sub-blocks. A sub-carrier mapper maps the sub-blocks onto adjacent sub-carrier blocks of an OFDM multi-carrier to form corresponding unprefixed OFDM symbols. A cyclic prefix adder adds a cyclic prefix to each mapped sub-block to form prefixed OFDM symbols. Phase compensations force the unprefixed OFDM symbol part of all subsequently up-converted prefixed OFDM symbols to start at the same phase. Up-converters up-convert the phase compensated prefixed OFDM symbols to respective radio frequency bands having center frequencies and bandwidths that preserve the OFDM multi-carrier structure. A combiner combines the up-converted phase compensated prefixed OFDM symbols into an OFDM signal.

摘要: The present invention relates to an architectural model of a radio network unit, e.g. a Radio Base Station, that separates functionality in such a way that it is possible to easily adapt the unit to various requirements and conditions. The radio network unit comprises an internal RBS-interface that subdivides the its functionality into a first part, which solely relates to the functionality of the radio network, and a second part, which solely relates to the radio part, i.e. the airborne part of the transmission. The internal interface comprises at least a link that handles the necessary additional communication that arises due to the subdivision and a link that handles the user data that is to be processed, i.e. transmitted or received, by said unit.

摘要: Buffer circuitry receives data to be processed by electronic circuitry using a first clock signal associated with a first clock domain. The buffered data is output using a second clock signal associated with a second clock domain. The buffering of the data is associated with a buffering delay. Counting circuitry receives at a start count input a write timing signal associated with the first clock domain and with writing data to the buffer circuitry. The counting circuitry receives at a stop count input a read timing signal associated with the second clock domain and with reading data from the buffer circuitry. A count value accumulated between receiving the write timing signal and the read timing signal corresponds to the buffering delay. Control circuitry performs a control operation based on the count value.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and a device for time synchronization of an RBS which has lost its GPS signal. The method in the time synchronization device comprises retrieving from the first radio base station a first timing advance value (710) used by the user equipment to adjust its transmission timing before the handover, and a measurement of a reception timing (720) of a random access preamble. The random access preamble is transmitted from the user equipment to the second radio base station during synchronization. The method also comprises retrieving (730) from the second radio base station a second timing advance value used by the user equipment to adjust its transmission timing after the handover, and determining (740) a time synchronization offset between the first and second radio base station based on the retrieved first timing advance value, the second timing advance value, and the measurement of the reception timing.
