    Abstract: Embodiments of a Next Generation Node B (gNB) are described herein. The gNB may be configured with logical nodes, including a gNB central unit (gNB-CU) and a gNB distributed unit (gNB-DU). The gNB-CU may comprise a gNB-CU control plane (gNB-CU-CP) for control-plane functionality, and a gNB-CU user plane (gNB-CU-UP) for user-plane functionality. The gNB may initiate an E1 interface setup procedure, a bearer context setup procedure, and a UE context setup procedure to establish a UE context that includes a signaling radio bearer (SRB) and a data radio bearer (DRB) configuration. The UE context setup request message may be configured to include quality-of-service parameters for the DRB configuration.

    Abstract: An apparatus of a next generation Node B (gNB) Distributed Unit (DU) comprises one or more baseband processors to transmit one or more retransmitted Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Protocol Data Units (PDUs) received from a gNB Central Unit (CU) to a user equipment (UE), and to feed back not only a latest, in-sequence New Radio User-plane (NR-U) Sequence Number (SN) to the CU for Release 15, but also a highest, in-sequence successfully delivered/transmitted PDCP SN, optionally, with a NR-U SN up to which the reported PDCP SN should be applied, which can provide an exact range of successfully delivered/transmitted status for retransmitted packets even in case of DU's re-ordering based on PDCP SN before transmitting to the UE. The apparatus can include a memory to store the reported PDCP SN and NR-U SN.

    Abstract: This disclosure describes methods, systems, and devices for mobile terminated (MT) early data transmission (EDT). In one example, a method involves receiving, by a node of the RAN, an MT EDT indication and information indicative of downlink data for transmission to a user equipment (UE) served by the RAN. The method further involves based on the information indicative of the downlink data, determining to initiate MT EDT to transmit the downlink data to the UE. The method also involves generating a Radio Resource Control (RRC) paging message comprising: (i) the MT EDT indication, (ii) an indication of a contention free (CF) physical random access channel (PRACH) resource, and (iii) an indication of an EDT-radio network temporary identifier (EDT-RNTI). Further, the method involves transmitting the RRC paging message to the UE.

The network mode may determine data forwarding from the first SN to the second SN and may request, from the first SN, data forwarding intentions prior to initiating the change from the first SN to a second first SN to the second SN.     Abstract: An apparatus of a RAN node in which flexible feedback for user data transferred between RAN nodes is described. The DL PDCP PDUs to be delivered to a UE is transmitted over an Xn or X2 interface between RAN and NG-RAN nodes, respectively. Feedback received allows transmitting RAN node to control downlink user data flow. The feedback contains a DDDS frame that includes a highest transmitted and delivered PDCP SN indicator parameter that respectively indicates whether a highest transmitted and successfully delivered PDCP PDU is present in the DDDS message and a highest transmitted and successfully delivered PDCP SN PDU parameter that provides feedback respectively about a transmitted status of the PDU sequence and an in-sequence delivery status of the PDUs to the UE. Buffered PDUs reported by the DDDS message are removed from memory as transmitted or successfully delivered PDUs.

    Abstract: Techniques to configure a UE for time-division multiplexing (TDM)-based multi-connectivity handover with a source base station (SBS) and a target base station (TBS) include encoding UE capability information for transmission to the SBS. The UE capability information indicates the UE supports the TDM-based multi-connectivity handover. A measurement report is encoded for transmission to the SBS, the measurement report triggered based on a measurement event configured by the SBS. RRC signaling from the SBS is decoded, which includes a handover command in response to the measurement report. The handover command indicates a TDM pattern for multi-connectivity with the SBS and the TBS during the handover. UL data is encoded for transmission to the SBS. Transmission of the UL data to the SBS is time-division multiplexed with communications between the UE and the TBS during the handover based on the TDM pattern.
