Abstract: A sheet separation mechanism comprises a separation roller set and a reverse roller set rotating in the same rotation direction. The reverse roller set presses sheets onto the separation roller set to stop one or multiple ones of the sheets close to the reverse roller set from passing through a nip between the separation and reverse roller sets, and allow the sheet directly contacting the separation roller set to pass through the nip. The reverse roller set comprises a shaft, and two reverse rollers and an annular member all mounted on the shaft, which rotates the reverse rollers. The annular member, disposed between the two reverse rollers, is rotatable relatively to the shaft and movable relatively to the shaft in a radial direction of the shaft. The annular member and the reverse rollers commonly press the sheets. A sheet-fed scanning apparatus using the sheet separation mechanism is also provided.

Abstract: A light sensing apparatus includes a sheet passage, a first sensing assembly and a first background sheet. The sheet passage has a scan window. The first sensing assembly disposed on a first side of the scan window outputs first scan light to the scan window. The first background sheet disposed on a second side of the scan window has a first reflective surface reflecting the first scan light, passing through the scan window, back to the first sensing assembly through the scan window. The first reflective surface of the first background sheet and the scan window are disposed in a non-parallel manner. Therefore, a light sensing method is also provided to achieve the effects of brightness calibration and boundary detection of the first sensing assembly.

Abstract: A two-sided scanning device includes a first image scanning module, a second image scanning module, a first scanning background component, a first brightness calibration component, a second scanning background component, and a second brightness calibration component. When the second image scanning module moves relative to the first image scanning module to a scanning position, the second image scanning module drives the first scanning background component to move relative to the first image scanning module, so that the first image scanning module and the second image scanning module are aligned with the first scanning background component and the second scanning background component, respectively. Therefore, the first scanning background component and the second scanning background component can be scanning backgrounds for the first image scanning module and the second image scanning module to generate a scanning image of an object with a size corresponding to an actual size of the object.

Abstract: A sensing device includes a housing, a supporting component, a grating module, a first roller, a second roller, and a control unit. When a media contacts with the second roller, the second roller drives the first roller to move the supporting component relative to the housing according to a thickness of the media, so as to adjust positions of the first roller and a grating wheel of the grating module relative to the housing. When the media drives the second roller to rotate, the second roller drives the first roller to rotate the grating wheel. Abstract: A multi-mode scanner comprises a first body, a second body and a scanning module. The first body connected to the second body has connected first and second sides. A passageway accommodating a first portion of a bent document is formed between the first and second bodies. A second portion of the bent document is connected to the first portion of the bent document and supported by a second side of the first body.
