Abstract: An implantable medical device adapted to be implanted at an implantation site may be capable of being implanted in more than one rotational orientation at the implantation site. The implantable medical device includes an expandable body that is adapted to expand from a collapsed configuration for delivery to an expanded configuration for deployment, and a radiopaque indicator that is disposed relative to the expandable body. The radiopaque indicator is adapted to be have a first appearance if viewed in a first rotational orientation and a second, different appearance if viewed in a second rotational orientation that is different from the first rotational orientation. As an example, the implantable medical device may be a catheter-delivered replacement aortic valve.

Abstract: A device for radially compressing a stent may include a housing including a central opening and a first iris positioned adjacent the housing. The first iris includes a first circumferential ring and a first plurality of arms extending radially inward from the first circumferential ring to define a first central opening. The device may include a second iris axially offset from the first iris and including a second circumferential ring and a second plurality of arms extending radially inward from the second circumferential ring to define a second central opening. Rotation of the circumferential ring(s) relative to the housing changes a size of their respective central opening(s). The plurality of arms may shift between a first configuration and a second configuration via rotation of the circumferential ring(s) relative to the housing.

Abstract: A replacement heart valve implant may include an expandable framework having a plurality of frame struts defining a lattice structure, each frame strut having a thickness in a radial direction from a central longitudinal axis; and a plurality of valve leaflets coupled to the expandable framework. The plurality of frame struts defines a lower crown proximate an inflow end of the lattice structure and upper crown proximate an outflow end of the lattice structure and a plurality of stabilization arches extending downstream from the outflow end of the lattice structure. The lattice structure includes a first circumferential row of x-connectors upstream of the upper crown and a second circumferential row of x-connectors downstream of the lower crown. The thickness of at least some frame struts connecting the first and second circumferential rows of x-connectors is less than the thickness of other frame struts of the plurality of frame struts.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to methods of attaching leaflets to a valve frame and valves made using the same. In an embodiment, a method of making an implantable prosthetic valve is included. The method can include compressing at least a portion of valve leaflet tabs, inserting the compressed valve leaflet tabs into commissural slots of a valve frame, and expanding the compressed valve leaflet tabs. Other embodiments are also included herein.
