Abstract: A basilica system for use in replacement heart valve implant procedures may include a first catheter including a side port disposed proximal of a distal tip, a conductive guidewire slidably disposed within the first catheter and configured to be advanced out the side port proximate a leaflet of a replacement heart valve implant disposed within a native heart valve of a patient, a second catheter including a lumen extending to a distal end of the second catheter, and a snare shaft slidably disposed within the second catheter, the snare shaft including a wire loop configured to grasp the conductive guidewire. The basilica system may include a delivery catheter. The first and second catheters may be disposed within the delivery catheter. The conductive guidewire may be configured to be electrically coupled to a source of RF energy. The conductive guidewire may be configured to puncture the leaflet.

Abstract: An implantable medical device is adapted to be implanted at an implantation site such as a native cardiac valve annulus. The implantable medical device includes an expandable frame that is adapted to expand from a collapsed configuration for delivery to an expanded configuration for deployment, one or more valve cusps secured relative to the expandable frame, an inner skirt surrounding a portion of the expandable frame, and an outer skirt surrounding a portion of the expandable frame, the outer skirt attached to the expandable frame via one or more sutures that axially secure the outer skirt relative to the expandable frame yet allow the outer skirt to move radially relative to the expandable frame. The outer skirt may move radially outwards in response to fluid pressure, thereby improving fluid sealing relative to the native cardiac valve annulus.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to methods of attaching leaflets to a valve frame and valves made using the same. In an embodiment, a method of making an implantable prosthetic valve is included. The method can include compressing at least a portion of valve leaflet tabs, inserting the compressed valve leaflet tabs into commissural slots of a valve frame, and expanding the compressed valve leaflet tabs. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: A device for radially compressing a stent may include a housing including a central opening and a first iris positioned adjacent the housing. The first iris includes a first circumferential ring and a first plurality of arms extending radially inward from the first circumferential ring to define a first central opening. The device may include a second iris axially offset from the first iris and including a second circumferential ring and a second plurality of arms extending radially inward from the second circumferential ring to define a second central opening. Abstract: A replacement heart valve implant may include an expandable framework having a plurality of frame struts defining a lattice structure, each frame strut having a thickness in a radial direction from a central longitudinal axis; and a plurality of valve leaflets coupled to the expandable framework. The plurality of frame struts defines a lower crown proximate an inflow end of the lattice structure and upper crown proximate an outflow end of the lattice structure and a plurality of stabilization arches extending downstream from the outflow end of the lattice structure. The lattice structure includes a first circumferential row of x-connectors upstream of the upper crown and a second circumferential row of x-connectors downstream of the lower crown. The thickness of at least some frame struts connecting the first and second circumferential rows of x-connectors is less than the thickness of other frame struts of the plurality of frame struts.
