Abstract: An apparatus and method to produce a hologram of an object includes an electromagnetic radiation assembly configured to receive a received electromagnetic radiation, such as light, from the object. The electromagnetic radiation assembly is further configured to diffract the received electromagnetic radiation and transmit a diffracted electromagnetic radiation. An image capture assembly is configured to capture an image of the diffracted electromagnetic radiation and produce the hologram of the object from the captured image.

Abstract: An advance in ultra-high-resolution optical imaging has been achieved by the introduction of iterative high-resolution image-building algorithms to incoherent holography. A recorded FINCH hologram is used as the basis of a method in which a high resolution image is built using detailed knowledge of the point spread functions of the FINCH hologram or reconstructed image, and then iteratively improved by successive algorithm generations of comparison to the recorded FINCH hologram and alteration of the high resolution image.

The use of thin birefringent lenses and single crystal alpha-BBO lenses are introduced. Corresponding systems, methods and apparatuses are described.

Abstract: An apparatus for producing a hologram includes a collimation lens configured to receive incoherent light emitted from an object; a spatial light modulator (SLM) that includes at least one diffractive lens which is configured to receive the incoherent light from the collimation lens and split the incoherent light into two beams that interfere with each other; and a camera configured to record the interference pattern of the two beams to create a hologram, wherein a ratio between a distance from the SLM to the camera and a focal length of the diffractive lens is greater than 1.

Abstract: An optical apparatus includes a plurality of lenses including a first lens affixed to an optics mount holder which is adjustably affixed to an alignment channel part. The optical axis of the first lens passes through a hollow area of the alignment channel part. The lens is mounted on the optics mount holder which is adjustably affixed to one end of the alignment channel part with a plurality of adjustable fasteners. A method is provided for aligning the optical apparatus.

Abstract: The inventors have discovered a method to improve image quality in holography and, for the first time, utilize lenses made from birefringent materials to advantageously split an incoming beam of either coherent or incoherent light into two coincident beams with different focal lengths that interfere with one another and thus create holograms free of electro-optical or pixelated devices. This discovery has many advantages over current methods to create holograms in which many components, including multiple lenses, other electro-optical devices, and/or beam paths are necessary to create holograms. The current invention provides a purely optical holographic process which has better performance and holographic simplicity, in addition to being able to miniaturize holographic processes more than is currently possible in state of the art holography systems.
