Solid oral care compositions and methods for the same are disclosed. The oral care composition may include an orally acceptable vehicle and one or more whitening agents. The oral care composition may be a toothpaste in the form of a solid film. The one or more whitening agents may include at least one of a source of hydrogen peroxide, a non-peroxide bleaching agent, or a combination thereof. The method for preparing the oral care composition may include contacting the orally acceptable vehicle, the one or more whitening agents, and water with one another to prepare a slurry, and preparing the solid film with the slurry.

Described herein are aqueous abrasive oral care compositions comprising (a) 1-10 wt.% hydrogen peroxide, (b) 5-20 wt.% of calcium pyrophosphate abrasive, (c) 35-75 wt.% propylene glycol, (d) 5-20 wt.% polyvinylpyrrolidone, (e) 1-20 wt.% of a random polyethylene glycol/polypropylene glycol random copolymer. Methods of making and using these compositions are also described herein.

A soluble zinc polyphosphate complex made by combining ingredients which include an organic zinc salt and a plurality of long chain polyphosphates having 6 or more phosphate polymer units, the organic zinc salt and long chain polyphosphates being mixed in amounts that provide a phosphorus to zinc mole ratio of 15:1 to about 55:1. Further provided is a method of making this soluble zinc polyphosphate.
