Abstract: A transvenously implantable medical device (TIMD) includes an electrical lead and a control module. The electrical lead includes one or more electrodes and is adapted for transvenous implantation. The electrical lead is also pre-biased to expand from a collapsed state to an expanded state to mechanically engage an internal wall of a blood vessel. The control module is secured to and in electrical communication with the electrical lead. The control module includes a signal management component and a power component disposed in a housing adapted for implantation into the blood vessel. The control module is adapted for at least one of stimulating and sensing a physiologic response using the one or more electrodes of the electrical lead.

Abstract: An implantable medical device lead includes an inner conductor coil comprising one or more generally cylindrically wound filars. Abstract: A device for the active fixation of an implantable medical lead includes a housing, a tine assembly, and rotatable shaft. The housing includes a proximal end for connecting to the lead and a distal end opposite the proximal end. The housing defines a housing lumen having a longitudinal axis extending between the proximal end and the distal end. The tine assembly is disposed within the housing lumen. The tine assembly includes at least one tine configured to self-bias from a linear configuration within the housing to a curved configuration outside of the housing. The rotatable shaft extends through the housing lumen. The shaft is configured to engage the tine assembly such that rotation of the shaft transitions the at least one tine between the linear configuration and the curved configuration.

Abstract: An illustrative anchoring mechanism is provided for attachment to an implantable subcutaneous lead to facilitate anchoring at the distal tip of the lead. The anchoring mechanism is attached to an opening in a distal portion of a subcutaneous lead prior to implantation. The anchoring mechanism may be designed to avoid covering the sensing electrode of the subcutaneous lead, to prevent interference with sensing. Use of such an apparatus may reduce the number of incisions needed to perform implantation.

Abstract: Implantable leads of a cardiac stimulus system are disclosed, as well as methods for implanting leads of a cardiac stimulus system. The lead may be comprised of a proximal portion having a coupler for coupling to an implantable pulse generator, an intermediate portion comprising a plurality of electrodes disposed thereon, and a distal portion. The intermediate portion may have a first diameter and the distal portion may have a second diameter. The distal portion may also have an attachment feature for attaching to a lead pulling tool for delivery to an ITV and an intercostal vein. Methods may include pulling a lead from a first position to a second position within the vasculature, exiting the vasculature at the second location, and attaching a portion of the lead that exits the vasculature to an electrode or implantable device for use with the lead.
