摘要: The invention is directed to conductive polymer compositions, catalytic ink compositions (e.g., for use in screen-printing), electrodes produced by deposition of an ink composition, as well as methods of making, and methods of using such compositions and electrodes. An exemplary ink material comprises a metal catalyst (e.g., platinum black and/or platinum-on-carbon), graphite as a conducting material, a polymer binding material, and an organic solvent. In one aspect, the polymer binding material comprises a polymer binder blend comprising first and second polymers, wherein the first polymer has a glass transition temperature higher than the second polymer. In a second aspect, the polymer binding material comprises a hydrophilic acrylic polymer, copolymer, or terpolymer. The conductive polymer compositions of the present invention may be used, for example, to make electrochemical sensors. Such sensors may be used, for example, in a variety of devices to monitor analyte amount or concentrations in subjects.

摘要: A printing medium suitable for inkjet printing comprises a substrate having at least two water-absorptive coatings applied sequentially. Each of the two water-absorptive coatings comprises hydrophilic organic polymer and small discrete nonfilm-forming particles. The hydrophilic organic polymer of the interior water-absorptive coating adjacent the exterior water-absorptive coating contains a greater quantity of nitrogen-containing substance than the hydrophilic organic polymer of the exterior water-absorptive coating. “Nitrogen-containing substance” is defined as being independently selected from the group consisting of quaternary ammonium mer units, poly(N-vinylpyrrolidinone), copolymer of N-vinylpyrrolidinone and &agr;-(meth)acrylyloxy-&ohgr;-(hydroxy, methoxy, or ethoxy)-poly(ethylene oxide), and two or more thereof.

摘要: Describes a composition for producing durable coatings and a process for preparing a single-layer broad band antireflective coating on solid substrates, such as glass, ceramics, metals, and organic polymeric materials. The coating composition comprises, in combination, acid catalyzed hydrolysis and condensation products of water-silane monomer mixture and a film forming amount of a polymer having functional groups selected from amino, hydroxy and carboxy, hydroxy and amino, amino and carboxy, and amino, hydroxy and carboxy. The described process comprises applying the aforesaid coating composition (or an acid catalyzed sol-gel coating composition) substantially free of preformed oxide sol and water soluble metal salt to the surface of a solid substrate, curing the applied coating, and treating the cured coating with an aqueous electrolyte solution for a time sufficient to produce a coating having graded porosity which is antireflective over a broad band of the visible spectrum.
