Abstract:
A leakage current detection and interruption (LCDI) device for a power cord includes a switch module that controls an electrical connection of first and second power supply lines between input and an output ends; a leakage current detection module, including first and second leakage current detection lines, which respectively cover the first and second power supply lines, and are respectively configured to detect leakage current signals on the first and second power supply lines and to generate self-test fault signals in response to the first and second leakage current detection lines having an open circuit; and a drive module which receives the first and/or second leakage current signal and the first and/or second self-test fault signal, and drives the switch module to disconnect the electrical connection in response to these signals. The LCDI device can individually detect leaks on the two power supply lines and open circuit on the two leakage current detection lines.

A leakage current detection and protection device includes a leakage current detection module for generating a detection feedback signal when detecting a leakage current on the power supply lines, wherein the power supply lines supply a working power to the leakage current detection module during half of the AC power cycles; a self-test module for testing whether the leakage current detection module is faulty based on the detection feedback signal, which includes: a simulated leakage current generating circuit for generating a simulated leakage current signal; a fault signal generating module for generating a self-test fault signal when the leakage current detection module has a fault; and a self-test compensation module for supplying an auxiliary working power to the leakage current detection module so the leakage current detection module is in a working state whenever the simulated leakage current is generated. This prevents misjudgment by the leakage current detection module.

A power cord with leakage current detection function includes three copper wires for carrying power and at least one leakage current detection conductor for detecting leakage current. Each copper wire is surrounded by an insulating layer. At least two of the insulating layers are each surrounded by a metal conductive layer. The leakage current detection conductor is adjacent and in electrical contact with the two metal conductive layers. An outer insulating layer encloses the three wires and the leakage current detection conductor. The metal conductive layers are made of a thin copper foil, tin foil, aluminum foil, or conductive rubber. The leakage current detection conductor may be formed of copper wires or aluminum wires. Such a power cord provides low cost and reliability, and can quickly and accurately detect leakage current in the cord.

The leakage current detection and protection circuit and the electrical connection mechanism are attached to the base and disposed substantially within a space enclosed by the base and the upper cover. A plurality of connecting ends of the circuit extend from the space enclosed by the base and the upper cover into a space enclosed by the base-side cover and the upper cover. Wires of the output cord are connected to the connecting ends, respectively.
Abstract:
A new and improved type of ground fault interruption receptacle is mainly consists of an upper housing, a middle supporter and a lower holder. Two sets of female power-output socket 5, 6, a simulation test button (i.e. test button for fault detecting) and a reset button are disposed on the upper housing. A metal mounting plate is disposed between the upper housing and the middle supporter. At the two sides of the middle supporter is disposed a pair of metal conductors. Between the middle supporter and the lower holder is disposed a printed circuit board, and thereon a differential transformer within which an iron core is inserted, a reset guide member and a flat spring type of resilient off locking switch are arranged. Using the differential transformer and the resilient off locking switch, the receptacle of the present invention may detect whether the fault current exists and whether the damage of a certain element or member for power transmission occurs. If so, the receptacle of the present invention can electrically disconnect the power-out connectors with the relevant power-input connectors so as to accomplish the ground fault interruption.
