Abstract: A distributed antenna system (DAS) having a communication component management system is provided that includes at least one communication component, at least one building sensor and at least one controller. The at least one communication component is used to establish a communication link between user equipment within an area of a building and the DAS. The at least one building sensor is located to sense environmental conditions within the building as part of a building control management system. The at least one controller is in communication with the at least one communication component. The at least one controller is further communicatively coupled to receive sensor data from the at least one building sensor. The at least one controller is configured to selectively change an operation state of the at least one communication component based at least in part on received sensor data from the at least one building sensor.

Abstract: One embodiment is directed to determining a location of a mobile device associated with an occupant within an indoor area using one or more images captured by at least one camera of the mobile device and a digital three-dimensional model of the indoor area. Information about the location of the mobile device is communicated to an emergency responder. Another embodiment is directed to determining the locations of each mobile device associated with each occupant within an indoor area using one or more images captured using at least one camera of the mobile device, storing each determined location along with an associated time stamp, and using at least some of the stored locations and time stamps in performing contact tracing. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a distributed antenna system (DAS) comprises: a master unit having downlink DAS circuitry configured to receive a base station downlink RF signal, and uplink DAS circuitry configured to transmit a base station uplink RF signal; and a plurality of remote antenna units coupled to the master unit, each configured to radiate a remote downlink RF signal from at least one antenna and to receive a remote uplink RF signal from the at least one antenna. A first remote antenna unit includes a secure DAS maintenance channel interface that includes a DAS maintenance access point. The secure DAS maintenance channel interface is communicatively coupled to a DAS maintenance channel of the DAS and communicates with a proximity detector configured to obtain a user equipment identification code from a user equipment; wherein a discoverability of the DAS maintenance access point is enabled based on the user equipment identification code.

Abstract: Cloud network implementations for a distributed antenna system (DAS) control plane are provided. In one embodiment, a DAS architecture comprises: a DAS cloud computing network; a first DAS comprising a first user plane, wherein the first user plane includes uplink circuity and downlink circuity, wherein the uplink circuity forwards uplink radio frequency traffic from at least one remote antenna unit to a master unit, wherein the downlink circuity forwards downlink radio frequency traffic from the master unit to the at least one remote antenna unit; wherein the DAS cloud computing network comprises a control plane in communication with the user plane through a network; the first user plane comprises a high level protocol interface abstraction layer coupled to the network and processes and forwards the uplink and downlink radio frequency traffic based on configuration commands received from the control plane via the high level protocol interface abstraction layer.
