Abstract: In one embodiment, a method executed by at least one processor includes receiving first historical location information identifying a first location area at which a first user was present at a first time and receiving second location information identifying a second location area at which a second user was present at a second time. The method includes determining that the first historical location information and the second location information each correspond to a particular location area and determining that a characteristic related to the first user corresponds to a preference related to the second user. In response to these determinations, the method includes causing information related to the first user to be presented to the second user. The information related to the first user includes the first location area of the first user relative to the second location area of the second user.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for use in monitoring product placement within a shopping facility. Some embodiments provide an apparatus configured to determine product placement conditions within a shopping facility, comprising: a transceiver configured to wirelessly receive communications; a product monitoring control circuit coupled with the transceiver; a memory coupled with the control circuit and storing computer instructions that when executed by the control circuit cause the control circuit to: obtain a composite three-dimensional (3D) scan mapping corresponding to at least a select area of the shopping facility and based on a series of 3D scan data; evaluate the 3D scan mapping to identify multiple product depth distances; and identify, from the evaluation of the 3D scan mapping, when one or more of the multiple product depth distances is greater than a predefined depth distance threshold from the reference offset distance of the product support structure.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a computer-implemented method for dynamic, cognitive hybrid positioning within an indoor environment includes: receiving fingerprinting training data corresponding to the indoor environment, trilateration data corresponding to the indoor environment, triangulation data corresponding to the indoor environment, or a combination of the fingerprinting training data, the trilateration data, and/or the triangulation data; estimating a layout of the indoor environment based at least in part on the fingerprinting training data; classifying at least some areas of the estimated layout according to one of a plurality of predetermined area types; and determining an optimum positioning technique to utilize for each area of the estimated layout, wherein the optimum positioning technique is determined based at least in part on the area type. Corresponding system and computer program product embodiments are also disclosed, as well as hybrid techniques for determining user position within an environment.

Abstract: A real time location system (RTLS) is provided for determining three-dimensional locations of nodes in an environment. The RTLS system includes at least one node associated with an asset in the environment. The at least one node has an unknown location. The system further includes at least one tracking device that communicates with the at least one node to obtain location data associated with the unknown location of the at least one node. A location module receives the location data associated with the unknown location of the at least one node and determines a real-time three-dimensional current location of the at least one node based on the location data. The real-time three-dimensional current location having x, y and z coordinates and the z coordinate indicates a height of the at least one node in the environment.

Abstract: Systems and methods for tracking, locating, identifying, or mapping movements of persons or personnel within a facility may include badges carried by individuals throughout the facility. These badges can each include a transmitter configured to transmit signals including signature information identifying the badges and also identifying codes of each signal transmitted. In addition, a plurality of dispensers can be positioned at selected locations of the facility and can include receivers that receive the signals transmitted by the transmitters of the badges. These receivers also can be configured to transmit information related to the received signals to one or more processors configured to identify each badge from which signals are received based upon the signature information and also to determine the proximity, range, distance, or zone between the badge identified and the receivers.
