    Abstract: An electrode assembly may include positive and negative electrode sheets, the positive and negative electrode sheets including positive and negative electrode current collectors and positive and negative electrode active material layers. The negative electrode sheet may be continuously bent and include a plurality of laminated segments and a plurality of bent segments for connecting the laminated segments; a plurality of the positive electrode sheets may be alternately laminated with the plurality of laminated segments in a first direction. An outermost positive electrode sheet may be a unilateral electrode having the positive electrode active material layer coated on an inner side rather than outer side of the positive electrode current collector thereof. The bent segment may be connected to an end of the laminated segment in a second direction; and the unilateral electrode may not extend beyond the adjacent bent segment.

    Abstract: A battery cell includes a housing. A dimension of the housing along a length direction of the battery cell is greater than a dimension of the housing along a thickness direction of the battery cell and a dimension of the housing along a width direction of the battery cell. The housing includes a board extending along the length direction and an accommodation space opened from at least one end of the accommodation space. The battery cell further includes an electrode assembly disposed in the accommodation space and a cover configured to cover the opening. A pressure relief mechanism is disposed at the board and configured to be actuated, in response to an internal pressure or temperature of the housing reaching a threshold, to relieve the internal pressure. In the length direction, an extension dimension of the pressure relief mechanism is greater than or equal to ¼ of an extension dimension of the board.

    Abstract: An electrode assembly and a lithium-ion battery are described. The electrode assembly includes a positive electrode plate, a separator, and a negative electrode plate, where the negative electrode plate includes a negative electrode current collector and a negative electrode active substance layer, the negative electrode plate further includes a lithium metal layer, the lithium metal layer is formed by a plurality of regular or irregular strip-shaped lithium-rich regions, and the plurality of lithium-rich regions present a discontinuous pattern of spaced distribution in a length direction of the negative electrode plate. The electrode assembly further satisfies that: negative electrode capacity per unit area/positive electrode capacity per unit area=1.2 to 2.1 and negative electrode capacity per unit area/(positive electrode capacity per unit area+capacity of the lithium metal layer on the surface of the negative electrode active substance layer per unit area×80%)≥1.10.
