    Abstract: An optical member includes a light guide body that includes an incident surface on which a light from a blind area is incident, multiple reflecting surfaces configured to reflect the light from the incident surface, a smooth surface configured to reflect the light reflected by the reflecting surfaces, and multiple prisms protruding from the reflecting surfaces in a normal direction of the reflecting surfaces and configured to emit the light from the incident surface and the light reflected by the smooth surface to an outside of the light guide body. The prisms are arranged at intervals in a first direction intersecting the normal direction and are arranged at intervals in a second direction intersecting the normal direction and the second direction. Each of the reflecting surfaces is positioned between the adjacent prisms such that reflecting surfaces are arranged at intervals in the first direction and the second direction.

    Abstract: A three-dimensional display device includes an image display, one or more color-generating refractors, and a viewpoint refractor. The image display is configured to use color generators arranged in a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction to display parallax images, two or more of the color generators acting as a pixel element for a single pixel. The color-generating refractor is configured to, while transmitting light emitted via the color generators, diverge or converge the light at a preset angle for each of the color generators. The viewpoint refractor is configured to refract the light toward respective viewpoints while transmitting the light transmitted through the color-generating refractor.

    Abstract: A light diffusion member constituting a head-up display device includes multiple micro-lenses and has a curved base surface. The edge angle is larger than the base surface angle change amount. The edge angle is an angle formed by one of tangent lines of two micro-lenses and the other of the tangent lines passing through a boundary between two adjacent micro-lenses on a cross section orthogonal to the base surface. A reference line has a constant direction on the cross section, and a normal line passes at an arbitrary position on the base surface. The maximum value is θmax and the minimum value is θmin among angles between the normal line and the reference line. The base surface angle change amount is the absolute value of the difference between θmax and θmin.

    Abstract: An image synthesizer apparatus for vehicle includes an image generator and an error detector. From multiple cameras arranged to a vehicle so that an imaging region of each camera partially overlaps with an imaging region of an adjacent camera, the image generator acquires images of areas allocated to the respective cameras, and synthesizes the acquired images to generate a synthetic image around the vehicle viewed from a viewpoint above the vehicle. The error detector detects errors in the cameras. When the error detector detects a faulty camera in the cameras, the image generator acquires, from the image captured by the camera adjacent to the faulty camera, an overlap portion overlapping with the image captured by the faulty camera, uses the overlap portion to generate the synthetic image, and applies image reinforcement to the overlap portion.

    Abstract: A scanning unit scans laser light emitted from a laser light emitting unit. A condensing lens condenses the laser light scanned with the scanning unit and forms a beam. A screen forms the display image thereon upon incidence of the beam formed with the condensing unit. A projection unit projects the display image formed on the screen onto the display member. The screen includes a micromirror array or a microlens array. When the beam is incident on any point of the micromirror array or the microlens array, two or more components forming the micromirror array or the microlens array overlap with a spot of the beam. When a center of the beam and a center of any component among the components are matched, a center of a neighboring component next to the component of interest is outside the spot of the beam.

    Abstract: A head-up display device is for projecting display light onto a projection member. The head-up display device includes a display, a reflecting member, an outside light prevention portion, and a state controller. The display emits the display light. The reflecting member reflects the display light emitted from the display in a reflection direction to project the display light onto the projection member. The outside light prevention portion changes between an entering state in which outside light is able to enter the display and a preventing state in which outside light is prevented from entering the display. The state controller controls the outside light prevention portion to be (i) in the entering state when the display light is projected onto the projection member and (ii) in the preventing state when the display light is not projected onto the projection member.
