    Abstract: A communication apparatus comprises: a communicator configured to receive, from a base station, a radio resource control (RRC) message including information configuring a skipping duration during which monitoring of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) is skipped, and to receive, from the base station and through the PDCCH, downlink control information (DCI) including an information field related to the monitoring of the PDCCH; and a controller configured to control, based on a value set in the information field, skipping of the monitoring of the PDCCH over the skipping duration. The controller is configured to perform control so as not to execute the skipping of the monitoring of the PDCCH while a timer is in operation, the timer being related to retransmission for a discontinuous reception (DRX) operation.
