    Abstract: Various arrangements for performing wireless sensor device activation are presented. A sensor device may be manufactured such that a function of the sensor device is disabled and the sensor device is activated for passive near-field communication (NFC). A housing of the sensor device may be sealed such that only wireless communication with the sensor device is available. An NFC carrier field and a wake message can be received from an activation device. In response to validating the wake message, a sensor device identifier may be transmitted by modulating the NFC carrier field and the disabled function of the sensor device may be enabled.

    Abstract: Various arrangements of intelligent battery controller devices are presented herein. A intelligent battery controller device can include a power input interface that receives power from a power source for charging a battery and a power output interface that outputs power from the battery. The intelligent battery controller device can include a power monitor and control system that monitors: an output power output by the battery to one or more external devices via the power output interface; and an input power received by the battery via the power input interface. Based on the output power and the input power, the intelligent battery controller device may determine a power level of a plurality of predefined power levels. A power level message can be transmitted to an external device that receives power from the intelligent battery controller device.

    Abstract: Novel techniques are described for gateway routing and/or processing of multi-tenant Internet-of-Things (IoT) device data streams. For example, a single IoT routing gateway can be used to route device data streams from IoT devices of multiple customers according to rule-based routing tiers. The routing tiers define routing protocols, including which communication technologies to use for transmission of the device data streams over a cloud network to remote servers. In some cases, the routing tiers further define processing protocols to facilitate rule-based edge processing (and/or remote processing) of some or all device data streams. Some routing tiers can define a primary and one or more secondary solution for routing and/or processing, according to customer-defined rules. In some cases, the routing tiers further enable rule-based control of interconnectivity among IoT devices.

    Abstract: Various arrangements for expediting sensor reporting in a wireless hybrid time division multiple access (TDMA) shared-medium network are presented. A TDMA channel allocation process for the wireless hybrid TDMA shared-medium network may be performed such that each sensor device of a plurality of sensor devices is assigned a different timeslot. Within each timeslot of the plurality of timeslots, a grant-free transmission window may be reserved. Any sensor device may be permitted to transmit data during any grant-free transmission window. In response to the sensor device determining the sensor data is to be transmitted, the sensor device may transmit a message indicative of the sensor data during a grant-free transmission window of a timeslot assigned to a different sensor device.
