    摘要: A manual shift transmission having multiple input and output portions is provided with a control having input and output shift rails. A laterally movable control shaft extends axially through cutouts in respective shift rails and carries cams adapted to cooperate with cam follower surfaces on corresponding cutouts to effect rectilinear movement of the shift rails upon rotation of the control shaft. The cams are arranged on the shaft so that the shaft may be positioned to place respective cams in register with the input and output shift rails while all other cams are out of register with the rail cutouts. The shift movement of respective output and input shift rails is overlapped during the rotation of the control shaft to decrease the throw of the shift lever. The control shaft is spring biased to provide variable resistance in response to movement of a control lever to enable the operator to determine his position in the shift pattern of the transmission.

    摘要: A manually operable shift control mechanism operatively connected with a transmission through an electro-hydraulic control circuit for selectively establishing one of a plurality of speed ratios in the transmission, the control mechanism including a pivoted lever angularly movable between successively arranged positions for establishing one of the speed ratios in the transmission, and a detent device coacting with detent cut-outs on a control plate for releasably maintaining the lever in each of the transmission settings and affording a distinct "feel" to the operator for each transmission setting, as well as an electric circuit board on the control plate operatively interconnected with the transmission control circuit, with the circuit board being provided with a plurality of spaced electric proximity switches that are activated by a magnet means carried by a pivot arm member movable with the lever.

    摘要: A hydraulically controlled fan drive system (12) having a method of engagement includes a housing assembly (20) containing a hydraulic fluid (48) and an engaging circuit (36). The engaging circuit (36) includes a pitot tube (152) coupled within the housing assembly (20) that receives at least a portion of the hydraulic fluid (48). An engaging circuit (36) engages the housing assembly (20) to a fan shaft (44) in response to supply of the hydraulic fluid (48) from the pitot tube (152). An electrical control circuit (40) having a relief valve assembly (225) coupled to a main controller (176) is used to control the fluid pressure within the pitot tube (152) that controls the engagement of the housing assembly (20).
