Central portions of the tether are sewn to the airbag front panel by a seam which includes a linear portion crossing the center line of each of the radial strips. In the case of a square seam, the square has rounded corners of a radius suitable for gradually transferring the load from the tether to the front panel to reduce stress concentrations.

    摘要: A low cost image intensifier tube is provided which has an improved vacuum sealing mechanism and improved optical transmission. Glass windows on both the input and output of the tube are vacuum sealed within the housing by a ring of indium that contacts the interface between each of the windows and the housing. A pair of raised pointed flanges each positioned along the inner housing surface interfacing the windows protrude into the adjacent ring of indium for improving the vacuum seal of both input and output windows and for controlling the spacing of the elements within the tube. Sealing the photocathode from the rest of the tube is a ceramic cathode cork. The cathode cork is a solid sealing ring press fit within the tube housing and colocated between the input window at the outer edge of the photocathode and the microchannel plate.

    摘要: A fast and effective way to step a relative position quantity by a reference interval. Each step in relative position includes open-loop and closed-loop control intervals. The invention contemplates an actuator capable of changing the relative position and a closed loop servo that acts on the actuator to keep the relative position centered on the nearest one of a series of reference values separated by the reference interval. The actuator is preferably capable of a fast response. Stepping the relative position is accomplished as follows, assuming an initial condition where the servo has locked the relative position to a particular initial reference value. First, the actuator is caused to change the relative position by an amount approximately equal to the reference interval in a manner that the servo cannot track the change, such as by disabling the servo. Servo control is then re-established, at which point the servo operates to keep the relative position centered on the nearest reference value. Servo control is maintained until a new step is required, at which time the process is repeated.

    摘要: An arbitration mechanism comprising a request FIFO (408) for storing ones and zeros corresponding to received requests in the order that they are made. A one indicates that the request was made by the module in which the FIFO is located, and a zero indicates that the request was made by one of a number of other similar modules. The request status information from the other modules is received over signal lines (411) connected between the modules. This logic separates multiple requests into time-ordered slots, such that all requests in a particular time slot may be serviced before any requests in the next time slot. A store (409) stores a unique logical module number. An arbiter (410) examines this logical number bit-by-bit in successive cycles and places a one in a grant queue (412) upon the condition that the bit examined in a particular cycle is a zero and signals this condition over the signal lines. If the bit examined in a particular cycle is a one, the arbiter drops out of contention and signals this condition over the signal lines (411). This logic orders multiple requests within a single time slot, which requests are made by multiple modules, in accordance with the logical module numbers of the modules making the requests. The grant queue (412) stores status information (ones and zeros) corresponding to granted requests in the order that they are granted--a one indicating that the granted request was granted to the module in which the grant queue is located, and a zero indicating that the granted request was granted to one of the other modules. The granted request status information from the other modules is received over the signal lines (411). This logic separates multiple granted requests such that only one request corresponding to a particular module is at the head of any one grant queue at any one time.

    摘要: A rake for smoothing sand and other particulate material surfaces has a head which is an elongate helical coil. Preferably, the coil is a coil spring which can be compressed axially from an open to a storage condition and means are provided for retaining the spring in its storage condition and advantageously also in intermediate operative conditions to compensate for variations in coarseness of the particulate material to be raked. It is also preferred that the rake handle is formed of a mutually inclined pair of arms movable to reduce their included angle and having the coil spring extending between their distal ends. It is especially preferred that the arms are arcuately mutually divergent so that the distal ends thereof move substantially linearly.
